“Good solid regional hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Booked at the Ampt Nijkerk for three nights. It is a nice quiet hotel, a good solid four star with efficient staff, clean compact rooms but all one would expect in mod cons, and a nice restaurant. It is a little distant from the train station and there are not many taxis in Nijkerk. I found the 1.5 km walk n the snow to be quite refreshing.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

I was visiting a company near to this hotel, which they booked for me. In an orgy of solicitude they met me at the airport, took me to the hotel and then arranged to meet me there the next morning. Which suits me: evenings talking business are not my idea of fun. But I digress. Basically, this meant that I was stuck at the hotel, as it really is in the middle of nowhere. I like to wander about a bit and look for a restaurant that's not in the hotel I'm staying it when I'm away from home but that's not possible here unless you have a car. It was a bitterly cold night, I walked around the block, there is a petrol station nearby but that's about it. All else is shut up at night. No bars or anything. Which isn't the end of the world, as the hotel bar is perfectly adequate although it's a bit souless as hotel bars tend to be. The food was very nice - I had snails to start and then sauerkraut with smoked sausage, ham and belly pork for my main course. Can't really fault it. All of the staff spoke excellent English, were friendly and very efficient. The room was a good size and very clean. There's no air conditioning / independent heating and I did find it a little on the cold side, but that's about it for niggles. I wasn't bothered by noise from other rooms or the corridor. Breakfast was a buffet and perfectly adequate. Would recommend for stays like mine of one night, but I think more than one night might get a bit claustrophobic if you didn't have a car.
I can't rate the value of the place as it was booked and paid for by the company I was visiting. I don't think it's cheap, though, but I think it's pretty good value for money none the less.

Ive been here last weekend to enjoy a relaxing weekend with my girlfriend. The hotel is located a bit away from the citycentre, approximately 5 minutes by car, bikes were also for rent. Reception and personnel is friendly, ambiance is nice and modern, the room was BIG with a plasma tv, a big bed and a small bed, a bath room and a separate toilet. The pool is small and te water could be warmer in it. Turkish steam bath was relaxing and so was the solarium (€5,50 for 20 minutes). Breakfast was good, a bit crowded but everything was filled multiple times. Apart from a few minor points (stains on the carpet, no air freshener in the toilet) it was a good stay and therefore defenitly recommendable. It also seems to be a hotel where a lot of business conferences take place. Parking is free just like the wifi (very slow though).

The luxury rooms are a must. The basic rooms are very basic and I think they are overpriced. The hotel is a bit dated. The swimmingpool looks nice on the hotel photo's.

The breakfast is good. There is a lot of choice. Everything was warm and fresh. Lovely brown bread and even asian noodles. The staff was very friendly.

Check in was fast and friendly. The room was good and all the fixtures in good shape. Towels clean and plentiful. Good but small pool and sauna. Dinner was superb €24 for 2 courses. Starter was salad nicoise, tuna, poached egg, anchovies and fresh salad. Main was chicken and pasta, huge portion, came with daupinoise potatoes and a sidebowl of onions, mushroom, peppers. Great night’s sleep, patio doors open in the morning, good shower, good breakfast with a wide selection. All for €79. Superb.

This is a good hotel with nice rooms (refurbished rooms are vey nice, other ones are ok), access to a swimming pool until late (usually they never close the door), a sauna and hamman is also accessible. Breakfast is good, either continentaf or with french bakery.

Wifi is now free !

The restaurant quality is decreasing over the time, which is a pity because it is also very expansive (22 euros for Carbonara Pasta !). I now go outside to have diner.

Stayed here as part of a conference next door. About 5 mins drive from Nijkerk station, taxis are generally not available so pre-arrange a ride.

There are long bike and running trails right outside the hotel. The rooms are nice.

Had dinner the first night and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The checkout time is 11am and was extended to noon when asked at the reception. The lady at the desk was little edgy on the time but was fine even though I came around 12:30pm or so to check out.
