“Stunning Facility, Excellent Dining.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

I have stayed at this hotel on 4 different occasions for business but it is definitely a pleasure to stay here. It is a little out of the way but if you are in this area of Germany/The Netherlands you should not pass up a chance to stay here. The history of the place alone is very interesting and worth some time. The rooms are large, comfortable and most have outdoor patio or balcony that overlooks the gardens. Thrifty management has all fluorescent bulbs that take a while to warm up but green is good, right? Service is efficient and business services are available. For those that require accessibility, the hotel has access but you may have to look for it.

We stayed here for one night the day before we visited the Belgian Grand Prix, about an hour's drive away. It is a beautiful hotel, set in pretty grounds with nice view front and back. We had a large bedroom with sofa and table, in the centre of the building. The public areas are beautifully furnished with plenty of areas for seating. Staff very polite. Had a very nice breakfast which was worth the 16 euros. We did not have dinner at the hotel's restaurant, but we did have a very pleasant glass of wine on the terrace in the afternoon sun. We ate at a very busy Italian restaurant about three minutes walk from the hotel. The only gripes are the time-limited wifi and meagre toiletries.

We stayed one night in this hotel in one of the castle rooms. It is set in lovely grounds front and back and the town, with quite a few restaurants, is only a few minutes walk away. The rooms had a luxurious feel and lovely large windows. The bathroom was large with separate shower. We would have liked more toiletries, for example there was only one small soap, to be shuffled from sink to shower to bath. Wifi was free for one hour per day. The buffet breakfast was in a nice room overlooking the terrace, costing EUR 16.50 per person and had all the juices, cereals, meat and cheese plus hot items. There was also a chef station, to cook omelettes and waffles. The hotel is situated near "Les Trois Frontieres" where Germany, Holland and Belgium meet.

Stayed for 2 nights for this years Belgian Grand Prix - Spa is about 35 miles away & this location was a great choice.Rm 402 had a hallway area, Very large superking sized bedroom with everything you would expect, massive shared balcony & large bathroom with separate bath & shower, the water pressure was invigorating, although the temperature control was very sensitive!. We ate at the pizza restaurant at the end of the hotels' road a 3 minute walk, good selection of pizza & pasta. Also ate at the Auberge Napoleon about a 10 min walk - really excellent food & very friendly owner, who recommended a decent bottle of wine. Breakfast in hotel was great too at 16.50 euro pp.

This building has been a hotel for 20 years and the new owners have added on wings for bedrooms etc. The original building was a convent and finishing school run by Catholic nuns from the Sacred Heart order. There are still traces to be found of its previous existence, including a Sacred Heart statue in an alcove in a basement room that now serves as a bar. One of the past pupils here was Rose Kennedy. The gardens are also worth visiting, as is the nearby hill where the three countries meet: Netherlands, Belgium and Germany (Aachen is a short distance away). Only stopped here for afternoon tea but the menu looked excellent and the receptionists and staff were very friendly.

We booked this hotel for one night. We needed two rooms, and spoke to the person working at the front desk. She helped us to book two rooms for our families, one room with one extra bed and the other with two. Each time she referred to the rooms, she said this suite will be 115 euros with two extra beds, and this room will be 95 euros with one extra bed. Upon checkout we were charged 17.50 euros for those extra beds. That increased the prices of the suite by 35 euros!

The hotel is self is nice enough. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. The grounds are pretty with lots of fountains and sculptures to admire. It's fun to say you've slept in a castle from the 1700s. Parking was free, and you can get an hour of free wifi too.

The did have the breakfast buffet for 16.50 euros for adults and 8.50 euros for kids and we enjoyed it very much. Pancakes, omelets, sausage, bacon, eggs, cold cereals, cold cuts and cheeses, juices, cappucinos, toasts, muffins, breads, spreads, fruits. The waitstaff in the restaurant was also very accommodating, and we all left happy! Also, we bought some water in the bar the night we arrived since none was included in the room and the bartender was very nice.

If we had known in advance that the extra beds were 17.50 euros. we may have made choice to stay elsewhere. Otherwise we had a nice stay.

This grand mason is in Vaals, not far from Maastricht, and close to that point where Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands meet. We were there with 32 colleagues for three days of intense working, workshops with brainstorming sessions, and teambuilding. For such occasions it is a perfect venue: You have ample space outside and inside, several break-out-rooms of different size and 'hooks' for smaller groups to meet. The service is complete, all on time, discreet and they really think with you. Ad hoc requests (eg..extra flowers, special room-set-up) were accomodated fast, precise and without ado. The buffet breakfast and lunch was excellent.
Our rooms were spacious, much light, clean and elegantly furnished, some with sauna and/or jacuzzi in the room.
I heard not a single complaint and was n´myself very satisfied.
