“Ok hotel BUT not very convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

In terms of hotel quality versus its price, this is an acceptable hotel. Good clean room and bathroom. No odor, descent lighting and clean linens. If you go in summer, beware as although the room has an AC unit, ordering it to get it turned on will cost you 10 euros per night!! A big no no in my view. Having not much other choices, my friends and I settled on this hotel. We knew it would be far from the city but once there, the reality is that it is even further. No convenient bus route, they come once an hour on weekdays and none at all on weekends and holidays. Walking to the nearest train station will take about 20-25 minutes! We tried several walking routes to shorten the walk time but 20-25 mins is a requirement. Its isolation will mean you have little choice of dining and leisure activities immediately around the hotel.
This hotel is not meant for the visitor who wants to be close to the "activities" of Amsterdam. I would instead pay a little more and elect to stay closer to Amsterdam. More so for stop over visitor who wants to be close to the airport (as they do provide free shuttle service to and from Schiphol airport).
Pros: Descent, clean room. free shuttle bus to and from airport.
Cons: Far from city, little to no bus route to nearest station, AC unit cost extra, boring neighborhood which means little choice for food and play.

Spent two nights. The hotel is old however the rooms are updated in a chic and nice style. The location is not the best because if you want to go to Amsterdam you'll have to walk 10 or 15 blocks in order to take the train (about 4 euros each one way). Nevertheless if you are with a car It's a good choice since you have a parking and it's confortable. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. The price is not bad So it's a choice to consider

Expedia photos are totally misleading. This place is like an old motel 6 with horrible dated furnishings. Plastic cups. A french shower only. Holes in the room walls. Nowhere to eat. A fifteen minute ride from the airport and you have to phone them for a pickup. Returns are at their convenience, not yours. They pick you up in an old beater. Out in the middle of nowhere. And not inexpensive. Do NOT stay here or you'll be sorry.

Stayed at this hotel for four nights at the beginning of May this year. First impressions were good - hotel shuttle picked us up and was easy to arrange. Driver was friendly and check in at the hotel was uncomplicated. The room was okay - pretty basic but nice enough. Didn't try the breakfast. Beds quite comfy and bathroom nice; shower was hot and everything was in good condition.

Several negatives, starting with the bed. It was two singles pushed together which meant that everytime one of us turned over we fell down the middle, which was very annoying. The hotel was also very loud - on one occassion we were woken up at half four in the morning by a taxi driver buzzing for entry for half an hour. We could also clearly hear other people in their rooms, and one night recieved a noise complaint even though we were in bed sleeping, which didn't make much sense. Also quite far from the station; we had to walk for around 25 minutes each time. Can only pay coins for train tickets - something we weren't aware of so had a problem on our first day. A few shops around Zwanemburg, but all were quite pricey. Also no late check out and the shuttle stops after 11:30am, so as we had an evening flight we had to carry our luggage round all day and get the train to the airport.

Depends on what sort of trip you want, but we wouldn't stay here again. Felt overpriced for what we recieved.

Overall we had a very nice stay.. Friendly staff.. Decent breakfast.. Good private parking facility.. The only slight drawback was that there was no lift in the hotel, so we had to carry all our luggage using the stairs.

Myself and a friend stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during our trip to amsterdam.
We availed of the free shuttle from the airport, so handy and 20mins later we were in the hotel and ready to start the holiday!

Throughout our stay, we felt that the hotel was extra personal and the staff were kind.room was clean and bright, only downside was the no smoking but thats to be expected! Gijs helped us with directions around amsterdam centraal which is a short train ride away.

Plenty of amenities in the area if youre not up to going into centraal.

Planning our next trip and we will definitely be returning to this hotel!
