“What a disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

Having spent 6 months deciding where to stay for a very special occasion we settled on this place. What a mistake.

On arrival we were upgraded to a beautiful suite, but that was where our enjoyment ended. Despite being told at check-in that October is their second busiest month, we only saw one other couple in our 3 day stay. That is presumably why we also saw no management on-site for the same period.

Presumably that is also why :

The bar was not opened in the evenings. The lights were off.

The only indoor relaxing area, the library, was not opened in the evenings. The lights were off.

Apart from at breakfast or dinner and a guided trip around the farm, no member of staff offered us any food or refreshment whatsoever during our entire 3 day stay.

On the one occasion I really needed a coffee during the day, I had to search the hotel restaurant and kitchen for human life.

Ok, you're probably thinking, chill out mate and just relax by the pool. Well this place is on a farm and the thousands of flies can't distinguish farm animals from hotel guests. Half an hour of swatting flies was normally enough to send us to our room.

At check-out we finally met a manager. I didn't complain about our stay because I wasn't asked about our stay. He clearly wanted money; but not the type of money I was thinking.

Despite the fact that their website, their price confirmation email and their 50% deposit confirmation email talked Euros, they gave me a bill in Dirhams which when converted to Euros at their "new rate" resulted in a 10% increase in the Euros cost of our stay.

Having implied to me that the police would be called (like a previous reviewer), I paid the new inflated Euros amount in cash. The manager then flatly refused to give me any invoice or receipt showing that I had paid in full. So I spent the taxi ride to the airport phoning my bank in the UK to cancel my credit card.

So I hope the manager had a nice holiday. We didn't.

We had an excellent time, if you are looking at a place to charge your batteries in a natural but very comfortable surroundings with down to earth but attentive service all at a price that does not melt your credit card this is it! We loved the place, we went horse riding in the desert, jogging, just sitting around or swimming and at night we never once turned on the TV as we were mesmerized by the stars.

We have spent about 10 days there, firstly to celebrate our wedding there with friends from around the world, then to spend our honeymoon. It was simply beyond our wildest expectations...the place and surroundings makes you fusion with nature. Quality of food and service is top notch, and Souheil the general manager is simply fantastic. Friends present with us there from Brazil, Malaysia, France, USA and else will come back for sure. As for us, we will definitely come back often to this oasis of peace and love.

Stumbled across the hotel by chance and what a find! Me and a friend were looking for somewhere to completely unwind and we weren't disappointed - it provided the perfect chill out and superseded our expectations by miles. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, lots of open space and a stunning swimming pool. The whole vibe is one of calm and serenity. Our Junior suite was ideal - really comfortable with a great energy and amazing views. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - unlike anything I've experienced before. Food is great - found the breakfast menu a bit limited but that really is the only point for improvement. The hotel is a 20-30 minute taxi ride from the heart of Marrakech so it's easily accessible - meaning you can still experience the hub bub of city life and the excellent shopping at the Souk. Easier to get organise taxi to and from the hotel directly through the hotel and i would imagine a unfamiliar cabbie may struggle with the off road track. The retreat-like-feel of the hotel is supported by the excellent spa treatments - I recommend the traditional Hamman and the facials! I took books to read and for evening entertainment a laptop and movies to connect to the flatscreen TV (you'll need the connector cable). Overall the perfect hotel for the perfect relaxing holiday. We'll definitely be returning next year.

Wonderful place, calm tranquil and serine. Staff were excellent but I recommend a French phrase book, their English is limited.

Highlights
Luxurious Gay friendly hotel in Morocco
Horse riding and picnic
Traditional Hamman in the spa
Take a dip in the pool
Walk around the farm
Pick a meal from the cook books and have the chef create for you!

Would definitely come back, but perhaps for a few less days next time. Its a wonderful place, but it was just a tad too quiet for us.

We arrived at the start of January, to a very peaceful and beautiful hotel set in stunning surroundings. We had breakfast and lunch each day looking onto snow capped mountains and lush olive groves. The food is delicious, the staff very welcoming and accommodating - we really were made to feel at home. Each day the staff set up a beautiful log fire in our suite. It was my first time in Morocco and it made a great impression on me.
