“Great location to explore Bohol countryside”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

A very good location to explore the countryside like the chocolate hills or danao adventure park. They offer wireless internet, but it's not working well. Very good and fresh food!
A tour with a motorcyle is a great experience, because there are not many tourists in that area, the people are still very friendly and children wave at u when u pass them! But be aware of the bad roads and there are many dogs, chicken, cows and children on the streets. So drive slowely!

Room Tip: The rooms facing the river are nice, great to stand up in the morning and seeing that beautiful rive...

We stayed 2 nights in this resort. This place is beautiful, especially at christmas. We had everyday live music. The cabins are big and well equiped. The Restaurant has some good meals and it is pricy. You can do the Loboc River Tour, Visit the Tarsiers or the chocolate hills. Everything is close to the resort. We had a river view cabin, where we could sit in the evening and listening to the Loboc River children chor singing christmas-songs. Great pool.

Tranquil, serene, friendly, clean and relaxing are a few words that describe Loboc River Resort. We spent three nights there, enjoyed the al fresco dining, there was a good variety of meals on the menu. Our River View Villa was traditional on the outside and quite modern on the inside. From our balcony we watched the school kids being rowed across the river to continue on their way to school. One morning there was a buffalo below us grazing on the greenery. We enjoyed excursions and also swimming in the infinity pool. This is not a place for night life but somewhere to take it easy and enjoy. The free Wifi was a bit slow, but if you are an early riser then it is ok.

Room Tip: The River View Villa is worth the extra cost.

Loboc River Resort was a great experience to us. We stayed there for 4 nights end of Nov 2012.
The rooms - we had one River View Villa - are clean and spacious. The bath room is also very clean and has a straight and modern, western style look. The AirCon worked properly and asured us a good sleep during our stay. The newly built infinity pool looked great and was big enough for swimming some turns. We also found good occasions to chill and rest there.
The resort itself lies directly at the Loboc River and is very good situated close to the most interesting things in Bohol: the Tarsier, which is soooo cute, and the Chocolate Hills (with the butterfly sanctuary on the road towards them; do not miss it). We loved the Loboc River and its romantic quietness: during day pay a visit to the Busay Falls via your rented kayak (take your time - in total you need approx. 4 hrs). During night watch the fireflies by a guided tour from the resort.
The best of all is the atmosphere, which has directly to be attributed to the extraordinary friendly and obliging staff, who knew our names from the first second and tried to read the wishes from our eyes. On our last evening they prepared - without any request from our side - one table directly at the viewpoint to the river and decorated it very lovely. Thanks a lot guys, this was excellent!! We enjoyed it a lot! On top of this we received special service by the (female) owner, which is an educated nurse. My wife had an infection at her foot (from our last island Siargao) and needed medical treatment. The owner reacted immediately, she phoned the doctor, treated the wound and finally organized prescriptive pharmaceuticals still on the same evening in Tagbilaran (30 min one way). Incredible! On ourselves we would have spent plenty of hours for this.
My summary: really everybody there tries to give you a pleasant and relaxing stay. If we ever return to Bohol, we will definitely stay there.

Room Tip: River View Villa is great and not expensive - good value for your money

we spent 4 days in the loboc river resort. the resort is located direct on the riverside in the middle of a breathtaking landscape close to a small village. It's a quiet and peaceful place 3 kilometers away from loboc. So its's an ideal starting point to visit the most important tourist attractions of the island. For only 5 pisos you can cross the river with a small boat (banka) and walk along the river on a small path to loboc (30-40 minutes). the staff was extraordinary attentiv, helpfull and polite. For example: they showed us fireflies in the evening in a tree, they helped us to organize a small boat for a river cruise, we got every day a local speciality as add on for breakfast ... and we had the best fruit platters of our whole holidays there.
The room was spacious (but a little bit smelly). After sightseeing you can jump in the big pool which is also close to the river. you can rent bikes or a motorbike which are in a good condition. They offer also a tricycle- and a car-service, but it's also easy (and very cheap) to go by jeepney. The restaurant has reasonable prices. The choice of the food was typical for a filipino restaurant and prepared in the common manner. The service was attentive and smart. And we got an excellent massage.
We felt a little big like in a big family and had 4 perfect days on the island. Big recommodation!

Room Tip: take the river view room!

When we planning our trip to the island of Bohol, originally we had hoped to stay on the coast of the sea. But then we stumbled upon Hotel Loboc River Resort and decided to try their luck and booked this hotel. We stayed here from 8 to 10 November.
On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly, despite the fact that we arrived ahead of time of settlement, we quickly placed in the rooms.
We were struck by the quiet, peaceful atmosphere in the hotel, artfully styled interiors, complete solitude with nature with a high level of comfort and quality rooms. Each room had an air conditioner, TV (which we did not use).
There is also a luxurious pool with a waterfall and a river, it can float like a little kid and an adult. Comfortable beds and a pool service can relax even more. One has only to dial the restaurant and any cocktails bring directly to the pool. Separately issued soft and large towels at no extra cost.
In the hotel you can rent kayaks and swim across the river, you can also arrange fishing trips.
It is well located on the local attractions of the island such as the Chocolate Hills and Reserve tarsiers and zip-line, where you can ride attached to the rope at a height of 300 meters above the mountain river and jungle, more than 500 meters. Time to each of the famous places is no more than 30 minutes.
Kitchen at terrific advise you to try the two types of noodles, and fish cook very tender, and we tested roasted pig, he was super crisp caramel color.
All the staff are responsive, smiling and friendly. They will do their best for your holiday!
The only thing the hotel has no currency exchange service. You can only change the currency in the port. Hopefully, in the near future for all the positive aspects and the hotel will add another this service.

The resort is a bit remote (600PHP to/from Tagbilaran - 1200PHP to Panglao arranged by the resort) but not in a really fascinating area. You are next to the Loboc River, but not in nature - more in a small village.

The rooms are ok, but not much more. We did not have hot water and an issue with ants (issue = more than just a dozen or so) in our room.
Service was trying really, really hard - too hard. Too formal for my taste and not really fitting the resort in my opinion: Too much of "Excuse me, sir" and "Thank you, sir" in every transaction, while - at the same time - the service itself was not careful (directing a fan at full power at the guests is nice IF it is hot and not raining and also I'd prefer less "Thank you" if I also get no ants in my tea).
Food was overall still quite ok and reasonably priced. The cocktail that we ordered one night was, however, the worst joke imaginable. Probably some "ready-mix" diluted with some cheap booze. Horrible. (Same goes for the Durian Icecream, but that was a great experience though I'd never like to repeat it. Recommended if you like to enjoy licking off feet of a Swiss cow farmer).
As activities, we did the "Countryside tour" (which is a must-do, but you can do it essentially from anywhere in Bohol) and Kayaking (really great and worth it).
Overall, I probably would not stay there the next time - it was not really great and staying the additional nights in Panglao would have meant less travel and been more relaxing without missing out on something
