“Seen better days”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

This hotel looked great on the website and on arrival first impressions were good but once you reach your room the illusion is shattered.
Very friendly and efficient staff.
The bedding and towels were clean but the room was filthy and not maintained.
It's a shame this hotel is of a poor standard because the local area is very pretty and by appearance very affluent.
Couldn't wait to leave.
Very very average and dated hotel

We booked this hotel at a very reasonable price, they say you get what u pay for!! Although the linen and bathroom were clean the stale smoke smell still lingered. The tired patio and over grown garden hid a fabulous view of the river. The pool was ok but not as large as appeared on photos. As others have said it was once a nice hotel that now feels dated and shabby. The wifi is very good though

They say, 'never go back' . We stopped here about five or six years ago, when the hotel was under different ownership, and were impressed.
As were were again travelling to Southern Belgium, this seemed like a good place to overnight, especially as it was located in the premier Strawberry growing area of Belgium.
The hotel is now old and faded. What greats you is overflowing ash trays at the entrance, and stained carpets. We checked in to our family room, which consisted of a double bed, and a fold out sofa for the two children. On arrival at the room, it had the impression that they hadn't run the vacuum cleaner since out last visit. That was after the long walk through the corridors of stained carpets and dead pot plants. There was no bed linen for the sofa bed, and the room was very hot. There was no air conditioning, and as the room was on the ground floor, the only exit was a patio door onto the garden area. There was a safety chain, but this was broken, so the choice was to either sleep with the door/window closed, or completely open to the garden. We ended up taking the chance. After several requests to the reception, the additional linen arrived, but first with a blanket, rather than a duvet. Not good for the 30 degree temperatures.
We made use of the pool. It consisted of a split inside/outside pool with seating areas outside. This was again faded, and had clearly seen better days. There had been a restaurant in the previous visit, but although it was still there, was clearly not open for evening business.
For what we paid (about eighty euro's) this was not worth the money. The overall impression was of an Eastern European resort hotel in the 1980's.
On check out, they even tried to charge an extra ten euro's for a fourth person in the room, despite us having a confirmed reservation for four at the agreed price.
The hotel is situated in a lovely location, on the river, and is a walk away from from nice restaurants, but we will not be going back. Next door is a supermarket and a fast food hamburger restaurant, but otherwise it will be a twenty minute walk to the other riverside restaurants of Wepion, or a drive to Namur for dinner.

no air condition when is 30 outside, billiards broken, in ping pong was not possible to play because the hotel does not have balls. Only rooms are big and the hotel has swimming pool, but it was not clean. If only for sleep and some swim, this is okay hotel, but if for weekend, for this price, it's better to find another one.

The photographs of this hotel enticed me to book it for a 1 night stay, on Easter Sunday, to break a long journey south, however, on arrival we found the seating areas to be cleverly photographed and in reality were quite small and cramped. The ceilings in this hotel are low and unattractive, lighting is via purple fluorescent tubes creating a night bar look, even in the day, and it was all unwelcoming.
The reception manager was friendly and helpful.
Our ground floor room was very large and felt as though it was partly unfurnished, the bathroom had no heating and was cold. The river view was pleasant.
The hotel is actually in Wepion, although the address is Namur, but it was a quick 10 minute drive to the historic old quarter of Namur and we had no problem finding a car park. The location is fine.
We didn't have the rather expensive breakfast (€12); on close inspection it was a basic buffet with reconstituted ham, 2 cheeses, boiled eggs, white anaemic rolls, cereals etc. and the windowless room was noisy and unappealing.
We feel that the hotel needs to be completely updated.
It sufficed for an overnight stay but next time we will stay elsewhere.

I have spent a "conference time" in this hotel. Hotel has nice conference rooms but it is quite outdated.

The rooms are big but very "empty". You have a filling, that there is just smt. missing in the room. Breakfast area is not te nicest. It is sort of downstairs however not underground. It is just a bit strange that there are no windows.

At the reception people try to be nice, but English is not their strong part. Even so that last day when I have asked to pay for the hotel, they said that was already taken care for, but actually was not. So my collegues (organizers) took care of it. I mean it is same company paying, but gives you a bit unpleasant feeling.

it is good enou for the conferences, but would not use it for a vacation.

Via BONGO selected this hotel to visit the city of Namur. The staff is very friendly but the hotel is a bit outdated. It is more a conference hotel instead of a charming hotel for a citytrip. Breakfast is in a former conferenceroom without any windows. The bar is next to the reception and enterance. Rooms are clean but balkony and/or garden looks like nothing has been done since the 1960's. If you look out over the river keep in mind that on the other side the railway runs with a lot of trains driving by during the night.
