We stayed at this hotel for just one night, and in general we had a good time here. The hotel has a rather unique location, just next to the Francorchamps Racing circuit, but this was not the purpose of our visit. The building and infrastructure is beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside. The hotel's front matches very well with the local traditional building style, yet it incorporates some modern elements as well, which make the building stand out.
We got a spacious and comfortable room which was nicely decorated. Everything was clean including the modern bathroom. Sleeping comfort was excellent as one should expect from this class of hotel.
We had dinner in the hotel at Saturday evening, but unfortunately that didn't match our expectations. The waiter got our order for the starters wrong, but at first they just tried to convince us that we really did get what we had ordered. Only when my wife insisted that we really hadn't ordered these dishes, they were kind enough to apologize for the mistake and made up by offering us the aperitives for free. The quality of the food, both the starters and the main course wasn't bad, but it wasn't what we had expected also. I had a entrecote with bearnaise sause. The bearnaise was quite ok, but the meat wasn't (it wasn't even an entrecote). My wife got pasta which wasn't freshly cooked, although the sause seemed to be ok. We finished our evening in the bar with a few beers and I was a little dissapointed that it wasn't a little more cosy. Also, the whole evening the same music tape was playing, over and over again....
Breakfast on Sunday morning was nice, although nothing special. We've had better in similar hotels, but we hav also gotten a lot worse.
When staying in a hotel like this, one thing that always annoys me is to see hotel staff members who just don't seem to like what they are doing, and somehow making me feel guilty for staying at the hotel and trying to have a good time. Unfortunately, some staff members in this hotel gave me the same feeling, which really is a shame ,because a place like this in this location really deserves a lot better.
