“It feels like home now.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

It was typically either our third or fourth visit to the Tourelles this year and it was so pleasing to see the hotel and restaurant still so busy. A just reward for all the hard work put in by the family and staff.
Work continues to improve the facilities, and I look forward to seeing the terrace completed next year.
Everything is so 'French' about the Tourelles and the Feutry family. It sounds stupid I know but I'm sure readers will understand my meaning.
Hoping to squeeze one more trip in before Christmas, which is surely recommendation enough.

We stayed here on the last night of our holidays. The rooms are charming...we stayed right at the top in attic style accommodation. Very clean and quiet. Evening meal was well worth the rating...just splendid with stunning presentation. The owner and co - workers were all very charming.
it was frequent by fellow travellers of a similar age ...... The hotel appealed to the over sixties.. I don't think it would appeal to travellers with young families however.

We have stayed here several times over the last two years, and before. The service is always wonderful from Nadege, her family and staff, and the food totally belies the hotels two star rating. Because of mobility problems, we are always given rooms on the ground floor. Tea is provided, and then the dinner! We enjoyed a family celebration last night,a beautiful bouquet had been placed on the table, and the meal as usual was worthy of 5 stars. The cheese chariot was outstanding and the tasting plate of desserts on the gourmet menu has to be seen to be believed.whatever time the evening finishes, Nadege is on duty at eight together with Maman to serve breakfast and tea for we boring Anglais. If the outside is tired it is because the effort goes into feeding the guests. Thank you Nadege we hope to return for many more visits.

Room Tip: 25 is a good size and on the ground floor, but don't book it if we are staying!

Being fed up with using Calais hotels on our, primarily shopping excursions to Northern France, because (a) Calais is not pretty, and (b) there are for my liking too many Brits about, if I am in France, country I adore, I want French. So we decided to look a bit further inland and did consider St Omer which is a very pretty place, then Boulogne, which is not, but again a few miles away you have lovely areas, hence Le Wast.

What a find, and I must admit some reluctance to give it the praise it deserves because I want it all for myself.

Chateau des Tourelles is typically French in appearence and decor. The greeting from one of the family who own it was warm, welcoming, and one immediately felt at home, like a friend. This lady is also a natural comedian, really entertaining.

As already said on Trip the restaurant is a fantastic experience, a €15 plat de jour, which is excellent value, and the quality is Michelin Star status. Having said that we did think breakfast was a bit spartan, just bread and pastries etc, no ham/cheese or eggs in sight, not important all was good.

The rooms, or at least the one we had was clean, comfortable and well fit for purpose. Only one complaint, that being the shower head sent water horizontaly and not downwards, easily fixed.

So in a few words Les Chateau is, Amazing, astonishing, brilliant, chic, delightful, elegant, exceptional, exquisite, fabulous, great, grand, good, incredible, lusious, magnificent, marvelous, opulent, perfect, proffesional, quaint, remarkable, regal, superb, spectacular, tremendous, terrific, unusual, wonderful, will that suffice?

No need to ask if we will be back is there!

Room Tip: 32 is a good one, it has an enormous balcony, where you can sit out with a cognac and cigar, or anyt...

This is a food review, but I could not find restaurant entry for this Logis de France hotel which serves delicious simple grandma dishes. The weekday set menu at 15 Euros for three courses was a fantastic value for a very tasty and satisfying dinner. The dining room is traditional old fashioned heavy wood tables and armchairs, white napkins et al, softly lit and full of diners who appeared to be mostly full boarders, and mostly English speakers. I would mistrust all these signs unless I have not tried the food here before, and I was pleased I made the decision to eat there again. The starter was a cassolette de poisson, a generous bowl full of chunky white fish covered with a creamy cheesy sauce. It was tasty, satisfying, well seasoned and hot. This was followed by mushroom chicken, unashamedly cooked in the old fashioned grandma style, bold, tasty and tender. The main course was served with traditional side dishes: gratin of potatoes, green beans, all good. And this restaurant still has a cheese trolley! At 7 euros, you could try about 5 small portions out of probably 10 types of cheese – I love selecting my cheese from the board, I do not like it when it comes selected for me on a plate from the kitchen. By this time I was very full, but curiosity and greed killed the diet. The desert was called “Fraisier”, which was a classic French strawberry sponge cake filled with rich butter cream and fresh strawberries, soft and delicious. I finished it. For an evening meal comprising of an aperitif - a good kir with white wine; amuse bouche (home made cheese straws, ok), 3 courses meal, cheese, half a bottle of Lallande Pomerol, no coffee, and a very friendly and smiley service, the bill for two diners was 65 euros. It was a very pleasant evening and will go back again.

Been staying here for over 10 years and only just thought to write a review. This has to be one of the best value places you can stay in Northern France.

All members of the Feutry family work incredibly hard to make your stay memorable. The rooms are very typically French ( strange colour schemes, bolster pillows and hard beds!) but the food and hospitality more than make up for it at a price you woudl find hard to beat.

The Salage Gourmande and the assiete degustation dessert always get my vote

Family with 2 teenagers stayed for 3 nights as a base to explore the opal coast and Pas de Calais area. Ideal hotel just off a main route 15 mins outside Boulogne. Informal approach - no prolonged check in process and a "homey" feel to going to dinner. Great food! Will stay again.
