“OK stay..not spectacular...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

Stayed there for 4 days...The location of the hotel is OK with a shopping mall in front of the main road in front of the hotel that you have to navigate. Spanish drivers sure drive fast so you better watch out.
The hotel has 22 suites so it is quite private and quiet. There is no swimming pool and the health center is locked. I tried to use my room key & it wont work. The most key thing that I remember is the layout of the hotel and the signs. I was given room with a two hundred number but on the elevator buttons there is no level with "2". I had to figure out my way until I know the way around it. In addition, there are using motion sensor to light up their corridor. It sure does look scary to walk into pitch black corridor before it light up so I'm not sure it is suitable. Frankly for someone that is street savvy like me, I got lost to find my way in this hotel. I cant imagine those who are not. The breakfast is too simple - no hot food. For the price I pay for the room I expect better
To recap, the room is nice but they forgot to put in the toilet roll - I have to ask for one. And the bathroom has this stinking smell. It went away after one day.
And the receptionist named Ana, she did help me a little bit but I could sure use more smile from her. In all, it's not bad.

Room Tip: Ask about where your room is located before you try to find it on your own.

We stayed at the Qgat Valles for one month during our relocation. We were very familiar with the area, and that's why we chose this location. It is located right on the edge of Sant Cugat behind the mall. Out of the way if you're there to visit Barcelona, but it is near the business center in St. Cugat and near the highway that leads you to Barcelona.

We rented a two level apartment with a kitchen. The staff is very nice and attentive but falls a bit short in customer service. The rooms are nicely decorated and have a kitchen, but the kitchen is not very practical or well equipped. The stove takes a long time to heat up (40 minutes to boil pasta), no cooking utensils, 1 pot and 1 pan, and the refrigerator is stocked with their mini bar items so it's difficult to find space for your own items. We rented this particular hotel for the kitchen, and only used it twice during the entire month.

However, their restaurant is excellent and made up for it. Although most of the time the hotel was not full, the restaurant always was. We ordered room service from them several times; quick, delicious and reasonably priced. Only problem is it closes on Sunday and Monday.

Unfortunately the hotel doesn't have many amenities; no pool or spa. It does have a small mini-golf area in the front, a gym, and a playground was being installed while we were staying there.

The clientele that stays at this hotel is mostly business people in the area for work, several wedding parties were hosted here but very fe families were seen here.

Room Tip: The price of a two-story suite with a kitchen is only 5-10 euros per night more tha the regular room...

The moment we arrived, and we saw the duplex suite with kitchenette, sofa, cd player, tv , nespresso machine, free wifi and all the minimalist designer lighting, we were impressed. this soon changed though....

The kitchenette was devoid of any cutlery, plates, or utensils. Apparently you have to order it from the front desk. Cheap? Just a little. The Nespresso machine was compemented with 2 capsules of coffee. Want more? Order them from reception at 50 cents a pop (normally they cost 30 cents). Make an extra 20 cents by reselling nespresso capsules..cheap? Just a little.

Heating: Two settings: Freeze or fry. Cheap? Just a little.

Room service on Sunday: Restaurant closed and there is no other way to offer guests something to eat. Called reception and I got a pizza deliver number...cheap? VERY.

QGat: Get your act together. Guests will not come back just for the designer lighting.

  • Liked — parking...plenty of space. Sorry but that's all i liked!
  • Disliked — service
