Stayed here a few years ago in order to break up our road journey to Brittany, but then due to tunnel delays only reached at 2.30 a.m. and were not able to fully enjoy the facilities. This year all went smoothly at Folkestone and Coquelles, and after a leisurely hour an a half cruise up the coast motorway, reached the Ibis at Villers.
My wife dived in to reception to get the (pre-booked) underground garage code from them, and we parked without problems. At reception we found a number of issues - that we a) should have booked twin bed rooms on the initial internet booking (I am sure I did), and that also b) breakfast was not pre-booked on booking, so therefore would be more expensive for us. We managed to get one twin room out of them, which wasn't bad, but had to pay the extra's full prices for breakfast. So do remember to do all these things whilst booking on the net, else all these little "traps" (that's the best word I can find for these weird Ibis idiosyncrasies) shall catch you out!
The rooms are clean, basic, and quite small for what you pay for. They are comfortable enough, and quiet, but the fixtures (such as the unit installed bathroom pods) were looking a little worn and dated, with quite a weak shower. Breakfast was once again "reasonable", but a bit expensive for what you get. The bread is so fresh (what the French do best of course) and everything is laid out nicely, and you can tuck in as much as you want - so it is more than adequate.
Overall, the whole night's stay, with two rooms booked for the for of us, came out very expensive just for the sake of a break on our journey. Think it would have been better value to book a four berth cabin on the overnight Portsmouth-St.Malo ferry. No real atmosphere in the hotel either - one feels awkward having a pre-dinner or post dinner drink in the small reception (library look) area, and having to rely on the sole receptionist bringing you your drinks. It's okay - clean, comfortable, very popular with the Parisien and Isle de France well to do couples heading to the coast for a weekend break etc. Not sure I would stay there again though - not at those prices.
Make sure you book everything up first time on the internet - a) twin or double b) breakfast c) park...
