We stayed overnight at Le Sorbet recently while travelling in this lovely area of France and thought it was very pretty. The tariff was very reasonable, and we were very warmly welcomed and well looked after. We had a pleasant breakfast French style in a warm and delightful dining room attached to the family's own living area. We enjoyed home made jams and home made yoghurt in dear little glass jars; the freshly made friands were still warm, and indeed were still being made in the kitchen while we ate.
We enjoyed the views and the short walk to and fro the town which made for convenient evening dining -although in fact we would have preferred to stay at Le Sorbet to eat in the evening but did not understand that we could have booked this until after it was too late. We booked on the Likhom website and being principally English speakers did not know that 'table'd'hote' meant that the family would provide dinner if we asked. I guess we needed this to be asked of us directly in the email booking correspondence. I suspect it would have been very nice indeed.
We liked our room -yes the decor is new and fresh and upmarket, and we managed the bathroom and toilet upstairs in the room ok -although here again we would suggest to the very lovely owners that they say that this is the case on their website -maybe with a photo of the tiled stairs to the ensuite? Going up and down to the toilet in the darkness in the middle of the night we did not like very much even though we are quite able bodied. One is often not so alert and a tumble could easily occur. The light -of course can go on -however one also needs to remember where it is in the dark from arising... and then a sleeping companion is disturbed further.... ah the indignities of older age perhaps! So - if the ensuite is not on the same level as the bedroom we think prospective guests should know in advance.
This is the only thing that keeps us from rating our stay experience at le Sorbet as excellent.
