“Surprisingly Disappointing Despite Some High Points”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012

We are optimistic travelers who expect to be happy, especially after seeing lovely website photos prior to booking. As expected, the modern decor was attractive in the 1BR suite we were assigned after a long wait at the desk. The view was okay, but north facing with tall buildings in between the intracoastal waterway and ocean versus the "ocean facing" we booked. Service was poor almost across the boards. We arrived to find our bedroom carpeting flooded and called the front desk, they did not apologize or move us to a different room but said someone would look at it after which they placed an industrial strength fan in our room that blew for hours until we asked them twice to remove it so we could sleep. No apology. The carpet was so wet that stepping from the carpet onto the polished marble floor of the kitchen, a less nimble person would have slipped and fallen. Fortunately we are surefooted. The problem was uncorrected as the carpeting became soaked again over our 3 night stay. I notified 3 different staff people that the problem needed attention with water seeping up through the carpet. No apologies, but they told us to leave towels over the wet area. This is not the service level I have come to expect from the Marriott chain and made me wonder if they are really running this hotel, or just a name on the door. Other problems included lack of decent chairs on the beach despite charging $30 per pair of uncomfortable deck chairs! I was advised that you need to obtain chairs by 9:45 AM to get the comfortable ones. Both pools were full of screaming children and too small for the scale of the hotel. The service from the parking valets was speedy and extremely polite, and a relief after the otherwise bad service experience.

Room Tip: North facing is better than south facing due to construction debris on a lot to the south versus a p...

i have never written a negative review like this but felt it necessary. my husband and i travel all the time and ALWAYS are going to palm beach. this place was the worst. we paid 600$ p night for 7 nights and there was always a huge line at the elevator like you were getting coraled in like cattle. it was awful. also, twice the concierge promised a cab for us to go to dinner and both times they did NOT deliver. we ended up having to drive our own car each time. i was late to a meeting also because the cab driver was 30 minutes late and i had called down 2 hours earlier to reserve a driver. also, they hardly ever came in to clean the room up, when they did they just would spread up the bed and plop a few towels down in a STACK on the tub, if we were lucky we got washclothes. unless they do something for us we will always opt to stay at Brazilian Court like we usually do. i told them about all these issues and they did NOTHING about it.

This is a very practical choice for the money -
- New and tastefully decorated grounds, rooms and overall facility
- Very spacious rooms with good views all around
- 10 Miles from PBI airport, 2 pools and on a beautiful beach (although sharks can be an issue)
- Fairly priced --> push for the free breakfast - can save you big dollars
- Staff was excellent for the most part -polite, efficient, hustled --> seem to care a lot
Constructive:
- Rough neighborhood close-by -always have to go through it
- Professional Nickel and Dimers --> How much to sit on the beach? How much for $12 merlot?
- Beach staff when asked why they dont pickup recycling : "Im trying to get home"
- Concierge doesnt seem to want to be there.
- Sliding bedroom doors are the opposite of soundproof

Room Tip: Ask for 1 queen and 2 doubles -Much larger room.

What a wonderful vacation spot! My husband and I were down during springbreak and had a wonderful time. The resort was extremely clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We spent a lot of time by the pool and walking the beach. Just two complaints, the price to have a car ( the valet staff was excellent though) and having to pay for WiFi. Having stayed at many different hotels, it always amazes me that the cheap hotels often have free WiFi. Nevertheless, I would go back and hope to next year for springbreak.

Very nice resort. Great/friendly staff. Rooms are fairly large. Kitchen/breakfast bar could be improved (seating for only 3, limited cooking + kitchen utensils). TV system sucks (remotes are less than worthless). Carpeting throughout hotel very tired (however, in their defense, this is a beach resort that takes lots of wear & tear). Pools are very nice. Work-out facility OK to good. $35/day rental for 2 beach chairs + umbrella (better off spending $80 at the local Costco to buy 2 new deluxe beach chairs + umbrella). The biggest drawback: the horrible, forced Valet Parking service @ $20/day. This is the definition of "adding insult to inquiry": expensive, had to wait 10+ minutes for my car to be brought up more than 3 different times, no choice but to use their service. Marriott this is UNACCEPTABLE. Will not stay here again primarily because of the parking!

Resort itself is ok although suites are smallish and while there is a kitchen there is no table high enough to sit at and enjoy a meal. View was so,so with a balcony overlooking a deserted construction site. The pool is advertized as an infinity pool which it is not other than that the water level goes all the way to the rim. The food in the restaurant was good but pricey. The worst part was that there is literally nothing to do other than sit at the pool (which is full of small kids) or the ocean (beach chairs cost a rental fee!) One can drive and drive, and while the area is pretty with lots of water everywhere, there is nothing to do close by, and I mean nothing! Entertainment of any kind requires lots of driving. We won't be coming back, that's for sure!

Great Hotel. All rooms are condos so pack light ! Newly renovated and in great condition. Two great pools and a kids club which is too expensive if you have multiple kids ( but is is the only negative ).
Gorgeous Beach which is not too crowded. Loved this place so much the we have visited twice in the last four months., close to all the restaurants. Great place for a family vacation.
