“need a break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Wanted a break during half term. Booked one night and dinner and breakfast as part of an amazing deal. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food was amazing. Had standard room which was more than adequate even if bathroom was tiny. Loved the quaintness of it. Would recommend it to anyone.

We had read the reviews and booked 2 nights at The Bull. The reception area and stairs to the rooms were very unappealing and had a funny smell. Our room (9) was at the top of the building, it was spotlessly clean and plenty big enough, if a little sparse. The ensuite was the smallest I have ever seen, but again clean. The bed was comfy and the linen of good quality. There were no tissues and no information about the area. The shaver point didn't work and the water pressure in the shower was very low; it took ages to wash the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair!
I had read about how friendly the staff were but we did not really find this to be the case, the service at breakfast, particularly on the first morning was rather grudging and we were asked what we wanted to eat before we had even sat down! The food was good however.
We ate in the bar the first night and enjoyed our meal, we had fish and chips (£12.50 each).
Our stay was okay but I wouldn't 't hurry back.

Room Tip: There is no pool or fitness centre but I couldn't un-tick the boxes for some reason!

Attended my sister-in-law's reception here and all-in-all it exceeded expectations. We stayed in a basic double en-suite which wasn't amazing, but exactly what we wanted. Others paid more and got more for their room so at least there's a choice here - something you wouldn't expect for a small hotel. The bar and restaurant areas were used well for the wedding breakfast and also served as a nice chill out area later on in the evening whilst the function room was a lovely intimate place for the two bands to play. Also due to the good weather that weekend wedding guests were able to utilise the seating and patio area in the courtyard, which also served as a great sunspot the following day for morning coffee. Top quality food and friendly staff.

We stayed at The Bull Hotel as a stopover whilst travelling back from Europe. Having had a disastrous B&B experience in France we were a bit apprehensive about our next stop which was The Bull Hotel. We had absolutely no need to be as everything was just perfect. Martin and his staff made us very welcome, our room (Room 3) was lovely, the food was excellent and we had a most enjoyable stay. The Bull has a lovely relaxed atmosphere whilst still providing top quality food and accommodation.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my partner whilst working at Brands Hatch for the DTM racing. My partner arrived before me and organised an upgrade. Lovely room with seating area and very modern bathroom which appears to have been recently upgraded. Fabulous shower with jets and lighting on a sensor. Lovely old style room with beams, and sloping floors, bed was extremely comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on 2 evenings and the food was excellent and the wine recommended by the waiter was delicious. Friday night is steak night and we were offered 6 types of steak. Fabulous. The cheese board is also wonderful and I tasted cheeses I have never eaten before. The bar area is very comfortable with open fireplaces. The breakfast was wonderful with fresh ingredients and great choices. The staff even arranged to come in early on the Saturday and Sunday morning so we could get an early start. Hopefully we will be back next year.

We wanted to make a return visit to the Sevenoaks area and after reading various reviews we went for The Bull and were not disappointed. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, couple of minor blips but nothing worth mentioning and we would definitely recommend the hotel and stay there again ourselves. It appears and has the feel of a rural location but is in fact a stones throw from the M20. We were treated to a Morris Dancing display (they happened to be there) in the car park and it was a very colourful and interesting evening - didn't join in though!

went with my partner on a travelzoo promotion. excellent value - accom, 3 course dinner, bed and breakfast and glass of fizz on arrival. food excellent, including good choice for veggie breakfast. loved the old building and spitfire memorabilia. offered upgrade but chose not to. our room was v comfy for one night away tho would probably have upgraded to get more space had we been staying longer. would be v happy to revisit and have already recommended to friends. thanks for our stay!
