“Poor Boxing Day substitute”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

OK - I left it too late to get in on Boxing Day but had expected a FEW more diners the next day - and a few more daring to want to eat as late as 2pm like us!! So - rather lacking in atmosphere to start with. Not many staff either. Thought there'd be enough to be honest but we still waited longer than usual to have our order taken and for all the courses to be served. This was still Christmas for heaven's sake - what about adequate staffing? We've been several times before and it's always been better than this. The wheelchair access is very good as well.

“Lovely restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We went here quite a long time ago, but it was very very good. The food was amazing, it was very cosy inside too, I definitely recommend coming here, and you get good value for your money.

“Nice food....had long wait for food both times though”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

We've been to the Moat twice now, and had great food both times, the only down side was we had to wait a long time for the food both times. The food is very nice doing general English pub food, generous portions and reasonably priced. The restaurant is clean with nice comfy decor, and there are some nice real ales on offer as well as some nice wines as well. Outside there are gardens, which giving it's location are surprisingly peaceful, with a children's play area, but this is aimed at older children. The staff are really friendly and take time to help you with everything, so despite the long wait we had for our food, we enjoy eating here so we will definitely be returning to the Moat again.

“Location fine, shame not enough staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

Now given up meeting at this pub, as after maybe three years of regular visits finally tired of waiting 10 minutes or more at the bar to be served. Drink prices are scandalously high (over 6 quid for a large glass of wine!). Food used to be served reasonably quickly, but the restaurant has now expanded and the only two staff on duty still have to try to cope, poor overworked things. Menu recently changed for the worse, too, being more limited than the previous one.

“nice place to meetup”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We have used this pub/restaurant several times and alway had a good time, there's plenty of parking and lots of room inside.
It has a good menu with lot's of choice, it's very reasonably priced.
The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much bother for them
