“nice hotel with amazing views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

It hasn't been even two weeks ago when we have returned from Paradise Lago Taurito.
We have been staying there for one week between 20th and 27th February. We were party of four, three adults and a child. The hotel is situated in beatiful area, breath taking views of mountains and the ocean, very picturesque place. We have been allocated in room 216 with nice pool view.We have booked a family room, which was huge with kitechenette, small fridge and microwave. The balcony was very spacious with glass table and four chairs. All the rooms have got the sea view.If you wanted better sea view I would advise to ask for a room located closer to the waterpark. Hotel grounds are clean very well maintained. The water park looks amazing but we haven't used it as the water in the pools was freezing cold.We have only used the heated pool which was fine. There is lots of loungers by the pool but the best is to reserve them before breakfast as they are going quick. The weather was great, warm and sunny through all our stay.
The food was very good, lots of choice, nicely presented. We didn't like drinks, coffee was horrible, no taste of coffee at all, alcoholic drinks were very week.We did only drunk sangria and beer as they seemed to be of better quality. The food in the pool bar was very poor, had tree choices only: hot dog, hamburger and toast and they didn't even taste good!
The animation team was great, working hard, good entertainment programme. We had a chance to see Mama Mia show and we were amazed with the quality of performance. They were all great espacially Kama in the main act.We had a lots of fun that night!Well done guys!
We have made to tips, one to Mogan and another to Puerto Rico.Nice places worth visiting.
Amadores beach is a must! You won't regret if you go there.Had a lovely day at Amadores! The colour of water is just amazing and we can even managed to swim once.
The public transport is good. You can get by bus everywhere. They run very frequently I would say every ten minutes and cost only 1.40 Euro, cheap and efficient.
We have booked our transfers on via Travelrepublic. We got a good deal as we have paid £84 return with private taxi for all our party. We had no problems with them at all, it took 40 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport.Check them out before you book your transfers.I would advise you to book transfer before you go as the cab from the hotel to the airport cost £65 so it's not that cheap.
We had a wonderful time in Lago Taurito.Shame we couldn't stay longer. We are already thinking to come back sometime this summer.
I would recommend it to everyone.

Enjoy your holidays in Taurito!

Have just returned from a stay here with my partner and ten year old son. It was busy, staff in the dining room running to stand still, then after the evening meal dashing to the bar to serve there - the inside bar didn't open until after dinner service. The animation team worked really hard and were all smiles, however I think that the work they did with the children was superior to their more family directed entertainment.

The rooms are very basic but clean, not provided with maid service on a Sunday. They require some updating if truth be told and the television looked as though it had come out of the ark.

The waterpark is salt water which can be harsh on the skin, you have to pay extra for the sunbeds there and a further charge for cushions. However hiring a waterpark sunbed was a bargain in comparison to one on the beach and the company might want to rethink their charging policy on that as everyone sits on towels on the sand around the overpriced sunbeds.

Watch out for hawkers trying to take you on 'no obligation' trips to visit other hotels a taxi drive away.

The food was okay but it was difficult to find a table at peak times, however quality and variety of food served throughout the dining room opening times is maintained

The staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay, there just weren't enough of them to go around !

We stayed in this hotel July to August 2012. it is a big hotel with other nationalities. we had the best 2 weeks holiday with our kids both age 11 that we have booked to go back for 2 weeks in July 2013. I contacted the hotel via their Facebook page and asked for a room at the beach end of the hotel above floor 3 and weren't disappointed the view was amazing and the noise levels low. we did not use the evening entertainment as our kids are a little to old for that. there was always plenty of different foods on offer in the restaurant at breakfast lunch and dinner and even with 2 very fussy eaters we never left the restaurant hungry. like other reviews it is difficult to get a sunbeds by the pool however the water park opens at 10 and we never had a problem getting a bed by the pool there. yes you have to pay 2 Euros a bed but the water was nice and you have the bed for the whole day. we have a great and relaxing 2 weeks all together and that what our holiday was for.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the beach end of the hotel above floor 3

please rember this is my opion, what people forget to say is there is 3 hotels on the complex each a different class, we stayed at the so called better one the staff where rude, but i noticed it was only towards english people, the first room we where given already had people in it, so if things go missing and you dont no how its because they give out anyones room key, there was scum floating on the pool never stayed at such a nasty hotel, was ready to leave 3 days in.

Room Tip: another hotel

We had a lovely holiday at the Lago Taurito. The hotel itself was very nice. Everything was spotlessly clean, including the toilets in the public areas. We found the all the staff very helpful and friendly. when we arrived we had no hot water. within 10 minutes of reporting this to reception we had a maintenance technician to our room to sort it out for us.
Our room was very nice with beds made up for the children in the living area and a double bedroom for us and a really good size balcony which was lit and perfect for sitting out on in the evening once the kids were in bed. My only issue was that the coffee table and the balcony table were glass which is not ideal for young families. We were at the far side of the hotel away from the entertainment area and although the hotel was full, it was so quiet it felt like we could have been there by ourselves. My mattress was fine and I slept well every night but my husband found his very uncomfortable and complained to me every morning.
The restaurant was buffet style. There was a reasonably good choice of food especially if you like seafood. There were a couple of occasions where there was not a lot that we liked but we never left the restaurant hungry! It is quite a large hotel and the restaurant was very busy and noisy, particularly in the family area but the staff did a great job of clearing plates away and making sure there was plenty of food available.
The pool area was nice but did not get the sun until about midday. In spite of this it was near impossible to find a poolside sunbed that hadn't been claimed by a towel after 8am! I will admit to jumping on this bandwagon as with 2 wee boys who are not confident swimmers it was important for us to be by the pool for them and it was the only way to get a spot! It was particularly annoying when some people who had claimed these spaces didn't turn up until late afternoon grrrr!!!!
The animation staff were great and worked really hard. They gave anyone who wanted to the opportunity to take part with out pressurising people who didn't. We didn't use the kids clubs but those who did looked like they had great fun.
The hotel was practically right on the beach which was also spotless. We did try the water park once but the water was so cold that it wasn't much fun for the boys, so we stuck to the beach and the pool.
The resort is very small, taking about 15minutes to have a gentle stroll all the way round so not ideal for people who like to walk and visit bars and shops. There were very regular local buses into Mogan and Puerto Rico though so it was by no means isolated.
All in all we had a fabulous, incredibly relaxing holiday and would have no hesitation in going back.

well we went as a group of 7 with four generations, the area itself as it was like a complex is absolutly breath taking you couldnt wake up to a better view. how ever we accidentally left a suitcase on the coach ( easily done with a baby in tow) and it took four days to get it back! after we told the rep where to look for it, she didnt even lok bothered about trying to look for it!, the hotel staff were very rude and as the hotel has mixed countries in there there are also alot of rude people!!, taking a baby on his first holiday was ok going all inclusive food was nice and plentiful, plenty of activities ( although you do get sick of hearing bingo in 3 languages! every night). also we were on the 7th floor and one day all the electricity was out so that ment carrying a pram beach items and the rest down 7 flights of stairs! also had no water the 1st night of our stay, just what you want after a 3 hour delay and2 n a half hour flight. enjoyed our days out to puerto morgan and puerto rico they are picture perfect in everyway

We had a nice vacation in this resort but at night we were disturbed by all the noise from the local entertainment. They also put on a show in the afternoons in front of the pool which was noisy. The beds in the rooms wasn't very good, next time ill bring my own pillow. We brought a child with milk intolerance and warned them about this, but we couldn't get information about the ingredients in food, however, they did have soy milk in the kitchen!
