“Best holiday Ever :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Just returned from a weeks stay at Suite Princess arrived Xmas Eve, wasn't impressed by Thompson rep at airport who told and wrote down the wrong coach number!!!not a good start but luckily arrived to a fab welcome and glass of Cava.We were upgraded at no extra charge had a wonderful suite on the seventh floor, fantastic suite and wonderful view. Bottle of complimentary bottle of wine, bath robes, slippers, water etc also sunbeds on balcony fab!!!

The whole hotel was spotless no-one fussy than me!! Food was very good but alas Xmas day evening meal very disappointing too much fish not everyone likes fish should have been a choice there seemed to be alot of waste not many people seemed to enjoy the meal either, such a shame as the staff worked so hard. Also we booked the romantic meal but when we saw the menu which alas more fish courses decided to cancel.Breakfast was ok bacon not done to my liking very over done but there was plenty of choices.I also missed picking what you want in an omelette theirs were ready made only one filling!!! but apart from this the food was superb certainly put on a few pounds my partner and I.Drinks on tap but I did miss waiter service especially at dinner and in the evenings.Alcohol measures at bar very good too much if anything!!!

Evening entertainment didn't start till 9.45pm before this you stared at a projector screen and watched pop videos not brill for adults only at such a premium hotel!!! professional acts some good some not so good.Stage too small and ceiling very low especially for the acrobat act which hit their head on ceiling!!! pillars marred view also silly layout for such a big hotel.

All that said we would certainly return ,weather was hot and glorious pool area very cramped together sunbeds but didn't stop us reading our books and chilling out.

If you just want a chilled out week adults only break with lovely clean hotel, good food and wonderful staff (except Thompson reps found them useless especially Nicky!!!!) and perfect weather this will be the place for you.Wish we were back there now!!!!

Room Tip: go for floor 7 fab!!!!

Overall a good hotel and would recommend as a place for couples to go to during the winter months. We enjoyed the private beach, which was easy to get to. The location of the hotel was a bit out of the way, but the hotel provides a private bus to the nearby town of Puerto del Mogan, and there are other buses available to the other main resorts. However, if you want to explore the more remote parts of the island (i.e. the west) I recommend hiring a car.

Food was very good with plenty of selection at each meal. Also, they rotate the menu so there is a different selection every night. The local drinks are good, however the coffee isn't great.

The room we stayed in (9036) had an excellent view, but there was a regular low frequency noise from the service lift during the day which was slightly annoying. Also, the entertainment from the resort could be a bit noisy until about 11pm, but this wasn't a major problem for us.

We didn't really use the reps but they were friendly and knowledgable about the area.

Room Tip: Aim for the top floor.

Stayed here 22 - 29 December 2012, great welcome from Reception on arrival, as we arrived late and dinner was finished they organised sandwiches for us. First time we have done all inclusive but will definitely do it again as you don't need to worry about money and can leave your wallets in the safe. We had a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the beach and Puerto Mogan. Quiet resort if you want to lie on the sunbeds all day, but plenty to do if you like to get out and about a bit as well. Courtesy bus to Puerto Morgan in the morning and return at lunchtime was a great half day out such a beautiful town. Love the three bars, sports bar, piano bar and the main bar for the entertainment, something for everyone. Adults only so no children which was perfect for us. Everyone is really friendly and helpful if you need anything and if you travel with Thomson the 3 reps, Bill, Ben and Nicky are superb, probably the best reps I've ever had the opportunity to meet. If you're like us and drink a lot of water, you can get bottles of water from reception free of charge. The gala dinner on Christmas Day was superb, food was of a great quality and 4 courses, but if you are expecting a traditional English Christmas Dinner this isn't for you, but we loved it no sprouts!

Stayed here from the 22/12/12 to the 29/12/12.
The first time doing all inclusive it was so nice not having to worry about money, food was excellent
good choices for everyone, staff are always polite and the hotel is kept spotless all the time, great location and porto mogan is a short ride away on the bus supplied by the hotel and this fishing village is beautiful. The Thomson reps were brill, Bill,Ben,Jamie and Nicky are the best reps I have ever met.

Nothing is to much trouble for Staff, I can't fault this hotel in any way.

Room Tip: Water you have to get from Reception.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 10 days to celebrate both my partners birthday and Christmas and it was brilliant. As a previous reviewer said the Thomson reps made the Christmas and I have to agree that Bill, Ben and little weed (aka Nikki) were the best T reps we have ever had in a hotel, also Jamie and his animation team who never stopped smiling and made sure we all had a great time.

To be honest all the Scandinavian's we met were lovely however we did come across some Brits who had returned many times who felt they owned the hotel and many being on silver bands resented the fact that black bands received extras and could have branded drinks and bottles of water & wine..... all I'm saying is this happens sadly and rudeness can be found in all nationalities.

This is a 4* hotel not a 5* but its Christmas Gala Dinner was defiantly 5* I would say though the hotel is a little tired but they are upgrading rooms slowly and they are always clean and well kept. The only downfall I can see this is an older persons hotel and if your looking for bright lights, nightclubs etc you won't find it here, but If you book this hotel I'm sure you won't be disappointed....weather was fantastic too.

Room Tip: Upper floors have better views, we were in 7032 and the sun came to our side of the hotel first and...

We have just returned from this lovely hotel wishing we could have stayed for 2 weeks instead of 1..!

Checking in was quick and easy and even after arriving at around 11pm they still had drinks and food ready and waiting for us.

Rooms were extremely spacious and beds were one of the comfiest we have slept in abroad. All rooms are junior suites with Sea views so for once you dont have to pay any extra..!

The food like in 99% of the reivews is fantastic, I really cant say a bad word about it, every meal experience here was fantastic with no complaints except for the lady doing eggs at breakfast, she's around 50 years old and is very rude, ignorant and sarcastic, think her name is Soleda or something. She was the only bad thing about our holiday. Would have complained about her rudeness but she probably wouldn't have been bothered anyway.....

As for location you are quite a way out so if you like to go places you should may be hire a car. Other means of transport is the local buses who charge 1 euro 40 cents to go anywhere you like 1 way. Bus stop is just a short 5 min walk out of the main entrance of the hotel to your left.

We loved our visit to Porta Mogan which you can see from the hotel and hated Puerto Rico, very dirty seedy place where you get pounced on all the time by time share..! I'd advise you steer clear of there........................

Average age of people in this hotel is around 50-80 years old and in the main very well to do, (never seen so many Rolex watches in 1 dining hall before)...!

The sun doesn't hit our hotel through the mountain though until around 10.30am and goes in around 4.30pm. Never to hot to sit outside all day either so if you like to laze around all day chilling out reading books this hotel is perfect for you.

As for the evening entertainment we enjoyed the show each night, which was always externally booked. Live band also plays lovely relaxing music all day everyday too from within certain parts of the hotel.

Also there is never a shortage of sun beds which I see as a big bonus. However we always had to get out early though for the beds at the front and to the right of the pool as thats where the sun comes up first...!

Finally, if you're considering this hotel, dont be shy and BOOK IT NOW, you wont be disappointed I promise.

Room Tip: High Floors

The hotel was good, clean, comfortable and with delightful staff so no complaints on that score. Our first week was I have to say better than our second as it is a large hotel and it was certainly bursting at the seams with guests as we hit Christmas day. Unfortunately, about 80% of guests in the second week did not share our good manners and we were privy to some downright rudeness to both staff and other guests! It has to be said that the majority of such guests were not UK or Irish but appeared to be of Scandanavian extraction.

However, as my title states the Thomson reps were totally fantastic and could not do enough for guests at this hotel so a huge thanks to Nicki, Jamie, Bill & Ben as you were all magnificent to ensuring that our every need was met.

We also went on the inner island trip, Garbos and the supercat boat trip which were all very professionally run and superb experiences in their own right.

Enjoy the hotel, the staff and its wonderful ambience but do watch out for those who had a charm by-pass on checking in!!

Room Tip: Better views the higher the floor!
