We stayed at the Princess Taurito for a 10 night stay. Excellent service from the hotel staff. The only thing I could criticize is the entertainment. Although we were only 3 in our family, my husband and daughter age 19, I should imagine that the entertainment for younger children could be lacking. Other all inclusive hotels that we have stayed in the past the entertainment was of a higher standard, varied for all ages. That said we did enjoy a couple of shows in the evening, the Tramps were very good (a tribute act to the Drifters) and the Magic show was entertaining. The animators were more like translators rather than entertainers - we tired of hearing 'and the mini mini mini cluubbbbb!!!!!!!!' You need to get into the Salon Lounge in good time for a seat though as the pillars did obstruct viewing.
The food was good, yes alot of pork , but also there was alot of everything else! The restaurant staff were very helpful, quick to seat you, always tables available, and always plenty of food if you go into the restaurant later. Pool Bar chappie very quick and there is snacks available at the other pool bar. And yes you gentlemen need long trousers in the evening, not smart shorts even - high standards!
The lifts can be tiresome. Having read the reviews before we booked I requested a low floor and we were on level 3, which is just about ok to walk up the stairs if necessary. The rooms are very good, spacious (although there was only 2 of us in one room,) nice and cool as it faced away from the sun but the air con was good, looked over the bay lovely views. Maid service every day.
The pools were good, nice and warm and plenty of room. Be aware they will remove your towels before 10am - good job! A refreshing change!
Had a good massage as well!
All in all a very good all inclusive hotel, best we have stayed in, although maybe with younger children may get bored. Not much around hotel, crazy golf. We went into Port Mogan one night for dinner for a change and then into Porto Rico where we have stayed before for dinner as well. Taxi fares were $15 into Port Mogan and $20 into Porto Rico.
