We have dined at Jorg quite a few times now, and we have never been disappointed. The service is warm and friendly, and the food simply superb! On Sunday afternoon, we began with the Terrine Du Jour, which was a rabbit ballotine, wrapped in prosciutto crudo, accompanied by a scrumptious house-made tomato relish and grilled ciabbata - delicious. Meticulous presentation. Of course, we were also given warm crusty bread with extra virgin olive oil. We then chose a few more entree plates - there are so many tempting options, we couldn't resist. The char-grilled asparagus with house-made mayonnaise dressing, hazelnuts and goat's cheese fritters was a huge hit, as was the delicately battered zucchini flowers, stuffed with fior di latte and served with a fresh red and green tomato salad. YUM! My husband then had the house-made papardelle with a rich venison ragu - most impressive. I chose the house-made special of pumpkin tortellini in a browned butter sauce with sage leaves and fresh authentic Italian parmesan. HEAVEN!!! In true Italian tradition, I mopped up all the sauce with extra bread (which we didn't have to ask for).
Fully satisfied as we were after such a magnificent meal, we still had to make room to share a dessert - we chose the house-made raspberry ice-cream chocolate brownie sandwich, presented with fresh raspberries and delectably crunchy and stick-to-your-molars honey comb... we fought over the last piece!! Ha Ha!! Jorg is a great space, but it can be quiet at times (we were there for a very late lunch). It has an excellent wine list...and it is even BYO on Sunday evenings. Oh, and we also spent our NYE there in 2011 - a fabulous, super value evening! Jorg really is a terrific place to dine, thanks to the three partners - two highly skilled and experienced chefs and the attentive front-of-house host, Vince. Well worth your time. You will love it!!
