We recently stayed at A Cannata B & B (a 2 minute walk from the restaurant) and had the good luck to choose the wonderful A Cannata Restaurant for dinner. Cheap and cheerful with sublime local specialties this family run restaurant was a highlight of our recent trip to Italy. We took the staff's recommendations and enjoyed a range of extremely fresh local ingredients - a wide range of seafood, including the delightful cuttlefish stuffed with caramelised onions. The restaurant was busy, with lots of local families and a few tourists - giving it an authentic local feel. Dinner was followed by some of Salina's gorgeous Malvasia wine. Heaven. If you are after ultra fine dining this place isn't for you - but if you want to have a joyful night out discovering traditional slow cooked Aeolian food featuring fantastic local ingredients cooked with love - don't miss it! We also recommend the lovely rooms let by the same family close-by. If staying o/night with them the family will collect you from the port on arrival at Santa Marina and drop you back on departure. Some english speaking staff are available.
