“beautiful hotel in a lovely place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

Is probably the most beatiful hotel from the mountain. Is true that is a little bit expensive but the quality is the best. The rooms, the staff and the kitchen, all are a five star experience. The only think that i can say is that i was hoping a better diversity to the spa. Anyway, the services of the personal of the spa are professional. For sure we will turn back.

The room was big, clean, but not luxurious.
The bathrooms was great with Bulgari cosmetics
The balcony and the view were awesome
The looby great.

the prices huge, the spa extremly small, the restaurant and food average or crap, the conference room either cold and windy, either cold and steamy

it only wants to look 5 star, but they still have a lot of work to do

Room Tip: choose the big room with the cauch

I have used this hotel twice now for team meetings. The meeting room downstairs suffers from no natural light however the rest of the hotel and the can do attitude of the staff more than compensates for this. Our second meeting, which took place in a suite with a fantastic balcony, was adequate for 15 people. Upstairs is the piano bar which has magnificent views and mid week is empty, perfect for break outs and for partying.
Food is great and the ski lift is thirty seconds walk away. Next meeting in January includes skiing as the snow is now falling.
Having lived and worked in Romania for three years and travelled across the whole country this is the best hotel I have found, indeed a hidden gem.

a little bit hidden but awesome; extremely clean, spa center, excellent food, pampering bath (Bulgari set).. well.. awesome.. worth mentioning that on weekend there's a telecabin very close by, and the view from the top of the mountain is a "must see"

This is not a 5-star hotel and the fact that there is a Romanian Board of Tourism that "manages" this rating system has left me highly suspect of the ratings in general. The lobby was certainly nice and the piano bar upstairs would have been nice if not for the 29 degrees Celsius (about 82 Fahrenheit) temperatures. The suite rooms (best in the house) are double story and the beds are on the second floor but the roof is sloped from the peak so there is no ventilation at the second level. This was a problem during the warm weather because this alleged 5-star hotel DOES NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING. If you decide to stay here, choose a smaller room on a lower floor and bargain them down from 5-star pricing or go somewhere else. The rooms were nice enough but reminded me more of a clean 3-Star hotel like a Comfort Inn or Best Western, not a luxury hotel.

Welcome and services very ok except at the restaurant although they provide a very nice wine list. Everything new and clean, including the spa and fitness center.
Ideally situated during the winter beside the telecabine we missed some summer activity in Azuga, no tennis in the hotel, no exterior swimming pool, interior one quite small if crouded

We stayed at the Hotel 26 - 29 Dec and would rate the stay as very good. The hotel has been open for around 5 months as I know and is very well presented with great friendly staff and is being kept in great order.

There are some little things for management still to iron out but all in all great.

The restaurant for dinner is rather pricey and I cant recall seeing prices such as this in top locations in Bucharest but the food is of good quality fortunatetly.

The hotel management has clearly targetted the "jet set" but should rethink its pricing policy for the first year of operation. Would imagine that it will catch on and become rather busy in the next winter season and this is where they should remember there is 2 seasons not one in places like Azuga so return clients are important ones.

Hope they keep it up and fix the small things I have suggested to the admin staff in a handwritten review ....if so it will be a winner.
