“Lovely hotel, great staff...........worst breakfast ever!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed here for one night as we had an early flight next morning. The hotel is beautifully refurbished, rooms very comfortable and the staff are more than excellent. Had a drink in the bar and found the entire staff there very friendly, efficient and pleasant.
However, when it came to breakfast it turned out to be just dreadful. Fair enough, we were very early, around 7 a.m, but we had been informed that breakfast starts at 6 a.m which is why we paid extra for B+B instead of a room only rate, shouldn't have wasted our money!! There was only one person on duty and the "buffet" looked, and tasted like it had been prepared the night before. Scrambled eggs were a yellow/orange colour and totally congealed, so much so that it was impossible to get the serving spoon into the cement like mixture to get a portion........the one member of staff had to keep shovelling and mixing it to keep the appearance somewhat presentable, we thought. Bacon was inedible as it had the taste and consistency of cardboard, the bread, which we had to toast ourselves, was still in the process of thawing out, and we didn't even contemplate trying the sausages, as they looked so sad. Altogether, quite awful. We left and had breakfast in the airport, which totally negated our plans to have a nice breakfast in our hotel and then check in for our flight. If the hotel isn't willing to provide what their guests have paid for, i.e. a freshly cooked breakfast, then it should not be sold as such. We have no doubt, whatsoever, that this food was cooked the night before and reheated for the early morning diners. If it wasn't, then they should seriously think about replacing whoever is churning out such below par food, and expecting people to eat it. As mentioned, there was only one staff member on duty and to be fair he did make fresh tea, but that was the only item freshly made.
We feel sad writing this review because everything else about the hotel was very good, and it has improved immensely on the decor since it's previous owners, the Clarion. Unfortunately, the early morning breakfast has let it down big time, and we ended up paying for a service which, while provided, was a complete disaster.

Room Tip: Don't have breakfast here, first floor room was very nice though.

Very nice Hotel very close to the airport, staff very friendly.rooms very comfortable and have all the facilities, my only gripe is having to pay for car parking when you are staying in the hotel, that is my own personal dislike. But other than that excellent

Room Tip: some rooms can be a long walk from reception, older people should ask for a close room if they have...

stayed at the maldron hotel one night to catch an early morning flight, and i would recommend it to anyone doing the same. From the lovely comfy warm room to the prompt courtesy bus to the airport, my only complaint would be the two receptionists whilst checking in and out, neither one said please or thank you or even a thanks for choosing the hotel, but i would still give 5 stars for the comfort and convience alone

Stoped off at the Maldron Hotel as I had a early morning flight. Picked up by the courtesy bus for the short trip to the Hotel, The driver was very pleasant and helpful. The reception staff were very pleasant and friendly. The room was good and warm when we arrived and this was well appreciated as it was very cold outside. Dinner in the restaurant was quite good-early morning flight so no time to check breakfast. All in all a nice place to stay and well worth a try.

Arrived and first time I ever found hotel room freezing. Went for lunch and all doors open as moving furniture at lunch time. Not sensible. Noisy party at night meant corridor noise. Reception staff only saving grace.

Room Tip: Don't know as I was in floor below reception.

Look, you're not going to stay here for any other reason than you have an early or connecting flight.

They know this. They also know that you may be tired, jetlagged and quite possibly irritable.

And taking these factors into consideration, they are friendly, patient, helpful and very welcoming.

The rooms are clean, tidy, with a bed that'll give you the rest you deserve.

The restaurant was unexpectedly good, even though we'd arrived late and I'm sure they were planning to get the tables setup for breakfast, they didn't rush us, and the food was obviously freshly prepared, and very well presented.

Bar prices are fair, the Guinness - as you would hope being in Eire, was perfect, we had a really restful nights sleep and the Irish Breakfast set us perfectly for our 11 hour flight to San Francisco.

Airport hotels can be bland, boring, insincere and at worst, leave you wishing you'd never left home.

The Maldron is everything you NEED from a hotel airport. I'll be staying here every time I fly to the USA from Dublin.

I have to say this was one of the relaxed stay of my whole hoilday! Shuttle bus from the airport is fantastic and the driver was very friendly and helpful. Check in was made easy by reception staff who are clearly keen to be there! Nell a reception Trainee was extremely helpful with the check in and was fantastic for a trainee! The food and drinks were lovely with brilliant service from the bar staff who were always kept busy but remained on top of everything. Comfy night sleep and easy check out in the morning
