“Hen weekend in Dunboyne Castle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

Just wanted to say myself and my chicks went to Dunboyne Castle last weekend and from booking the event right through the whole process we all found the staff amazing, friendly, Helpfull and really couldn't do more for us.It was a very busy weekend up there with bigger events and we where made feel just as important as everyone else from check in to check out. Staff in the Cellar and Terrace bar's where friendly and pleasant. Staff in the Spa where lovely and our spa treatments where perfect, facilities where well kept and ticked every box. Overall everybody had a wonderful weekend and to be honest the staff helped make it for us and we thank Dunboyne Castle for that and would recommend Dunboyne Castle for any event,

Lovely location, welcome a bit sterile but room, breakfast and Bar Service first class. Although we ate in Slevins in Dunboyne (excellent service and food) our friends felt the restaurant was a bit pricey for what
They had. Rooms overlooks a lovely woodland with lots of rooks to keep you amused even at 6am when they start their day ! Would stay there again no problem.

We had our wedding in Dunboyne Castle on 17 Feb 2012 and highly recommend this hotel for the quality of service, the friendliness of staff, the high standard of the accomodation and food and for the overall atmosphere and setting.
From we first met with the manager to discuss potential of having wedding through to the moment we left as a married couple we were treated fantastically - everything promised and way more delivered on. All of our guests commented back to us on the high standard and fantastic treatment received. If you're planning a wedding then look no further!!
We were too busy to make it to the spa but family and friends all went and raved about it - especially the outdoor hottub. (although worth noting that as it's hydro therapy pool, no children allowed)

Booked in for a relaxing weekend before having a baby. Room was nice, spacious and clean - however no water or biscuits supplied that you would expect to get from a 4 *. Bath robes - very worn and hard. Had food in the bar - food nice but could have been hotter as they carry it down from kitchen upstairs. Parked my car in the hotel carpark - which is not secure - its a walkway for locals -I didn't know this when I parked there - reception failed to mention that and my car got damaged. The hotel were useless with regard to finding out what happened - I had to send 3 emails and make two phone call. Still no help I spoke to a manager who didn't bother ringing me back. DONT PARK HERE and if you do dont expect any help from hotel as they have no customer especially the managers

Our stay at Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa can only be described at relaxing. The hotel has wonderful grounds and has some fantastic areas for photography. The Spa staff were freindly and professional, equipment in general was in good condition and easy to use. It was never too crowded and there was always space available in the pool or Hydro therapy areas. It would be great if the number of loungers were increased around the pool to allow more people to relax in the tranquill settings.

The room was spacious and had everything you need for your stay. We sampled the bar food which was tasty and a good sized portion. Service was very good and the seating was comfortable. The hotel was busy but you still felt you had a quiet place to sit and relax.

Dunboyne is within walking distance and there are a number of places to eat and a busy enough night life if you want to leave the hotel for the night.

Overall the stay was excellent value and I would recommend the hotel to others.

Room Tip: The rooms without the little balconies are nice and roomy if you want some extra space.

Stayed here the end of January for one night (Saturday) . We had treated ourselves to a spa break and included in our price was b&b, dinner and two spa treatments. As there was three of us in the group, they had given us an executive double room with three single beds. The room was huge which was great in the room and the bathroom was spotless and loved the fact that there was a separate shower area instead of the shower usually being position in the bath. The spa / spa treatments were amazing, and we spent 3 hours getting pampered and the relaxation room was pure bliss.. Dinner was lovely and we ended up in the bar downstairs which was great craic as there was a traditional band that night... Breakfast was nice though the toast machine caused a long queue, so maybe getting toast when you order your tea might solve the chaos.. overall had a lovely relaxing stay in Dunboyne Castle and look forward to spending another spa break in the Hotel in the near future.

Stayed here last night for a night away with my husband. The hotel was lovely and relaxing but there was a few things that let it down.
First impressions of the hotel were very good. It has a lovely lobby and big couches. Our room was on the 1st floor which is actually the ground floor. Room was nice and big and the bathroom was spacious, however there was a musty smell coming from the bathroom.
We had lunch in the terrace bar which has big comfortable couches. Food was nice and good selection (though its the same menu as the Saddlier bar)
The spa is very nice. There are 2 steam rooms, sauna, jacuzzi & hot tub outside. The steam rooms and sauna were fabulous. The hot tub wasnt very hot, could have been a good bit hotter!
We had dinner in the saddlier bar which again was nice. The bar itself isnt very big. It seemed to be frequented my alot of locals and I didnt particularly like the vibe of the bar.
We barely got any sleep that night as the room next door had left their TV on very very loud. We rang the front desk 3 times over a 1.5 hour period & eventually the TV was shut off. After that the fire alarm went off for only about 5 seconds but still woke us up.
Breakfast was ok
