We stayed the 15th June overnight for our friends wedding that we attended. Our stay was comfortable, the food both for the wedding breakfast & evening reception was really enjoyable & the staff were really helpful & polite. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds & is a short distance away from Leeds city centre with easy access to the M62, M621 & M1. We were booked in to room 16 (Shantung) & our room had gorgeous views of the gardens. The room was a generous size & was one of the more expensive rooms (my husband treated us as a night escaping the children). We had a jacuzzi bath, his & hers sink & a separate shower & this again was a generous sized bathroom. The only comments that I can pass constructive feedback on is that considering the size of the room, we only had a double bed which was a bit too soft for our like (but that's personal preference) & my hubby is 6ft 3", so his feet hung out of the end. Larger rooms should have king size beds. The jacuzzi bath was fab, but the shower was very weak - definitely not a power shower & it took a while to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. Our air conditioning unit kept clicking when in use, but it was a coolish night, so opening the windows solved that one. It would have been nice to have been able to check in earlier than 3pm too. The wedding was at 12pm, so we had to travel in the clothes we were wearing to the wedding & leave everything in the car during the wedding ceremony. Breakfast the following morning was good, but not as good as the wedding food. Toast was served first before our full English arrived & was a bit tough & cold. There were a choice of breakfasts available, but not much in the way of vegetarian options. There were fruit juices, fruit, cereal & small pastries available in addition to the cooked breakfasts & the pastries were lovely & freshly baked. The only other thing we noticed was that the lift had an unpleasant smell & a couple of times when I used it, I had to share it with a dirty trolley (possibly from room service). The above comments I have made are just small things that could be changed, to make people's stay a little more comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay & had a fantastic time at the wedding. Would we come back & stay again as a one night getaway? If the price was right - yes.
