At nearly £10 a head for a single cheese sandwich and a drink this has to be the most expensive "cafe" along the Suffolk coast.
Yes the food was OK, but all this "Thorpness salad/greens" I felt was pretentious and added nothing, the coffee was nothing special either, better than a chain but not worth the extortionate cost.
Service was slow and it was all so disorganised, where did you order, where did you sit, did you have a table number or marker and where were the staff ?
Serving staff we did see seemed to be under pressure and didn't look happy.
I really felt this was all over done for tourists.
Save your money and try places in Aldeburgh, if you are stuck in Thorpness then try over the road near the mear, the queue is usually quite large but then its pretty good.
I like to try new places and I do not mind paying for good food/service/drinks, but we left feeling ripped off like a tourist on holiday.
