“Simply the best service we have ever experienced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2011

Fattoria La Palazzina is quintessential Tuscany. The location is perfect--close to everything, but far enough away that you get a real Tuscany experience. The home is elegant and beautiful; the food delicious; and the service unforgettable thanks to the tireless effort of its owner Silvano.
Silvano has been in the Hotel business for a long time and he has a genuine passion for his job. He cares deeply about your experience and goes out of his way to make sure you are taken care of. My wife and I had our anniversary while there and before diner Silvano set up a private table overlooking the rolling hills of the Tuscan landscape. He then proceeded to bring out a complimentary bottle of Champagne, prosciutto wrapped melon and bruschetta. The strange thing for us Americans was that Silvano cared less about his bottom line and more about our experience at Fattoria La Pallazzina. He truly made you feel special.

We spent four days with Silvano and missed his hospitality as we continued throughout Italy. After we left, anytime we had a good day or saw something amazing we would say "AWWWW Beni Beni" in the mannerisms of Silvano, who would say this to us after we recited to him our days events in Tuscany.

We have vowed to one day return. It was an unforgettable experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here on a 3 week trip. the Palazzina was our favorite place we stayed. It is NOT for those who want constant action - it is close (30 minutes - close by Tuscany standards) to Montepulciano and Montalcino, Siena is only an hour away, but the beauty of the Palazzina is the relaxation of not being near the tourist madness. We spent one whole day of our stay just relaxing on the property. The meals are an excellent value - beautiful fresh food, reasonably priced, fabulous house wine and good wine cellar if you want to upgrade, and no driving after your meal. Italy is really cracking down on drinking and driving, and with the curvy nature of the area roads, you would be somewhat crazy to drink and drive here. Why bother? Eat at the hotel in the evenings, relax with your fellow "residents" and walk upstairs to bed. Kittens, a dog, sheep down the road, resident burro, awesome staff and owners - who could ask for more? If you have to be stimulated every minute, please go somewhere else and leave this paradise for the rest of us

Just been here for afew days for a friends wedding and instantly fell in love with the place ( it's hard not too !! ) Silvano and his staff were amazing from start to finish, the food was awesome ,the location is out of this world-nothing but rolling hills wherever you look. If you want to ' get away from it all ' this is the perfect place.Closest town is about 25 mins away but why would you wanna leave this place anyway ?? Heaven on earth.. . .

La Palazzina is located on a mountain road near Radicofani. It is a very nice old house with a swimming pool. The staff was very friendly and the athmospere is very relaxing. The food is really good. We had a room with a great view on the mountains, the bed was a bit soft, but ok.

We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The things we most noticed were a) the location which is wonderful: the guesthouse is situated in the middle of gorgeous Tuscan countryside, b) the great food (we ate there both nights) and c) the great welcome from Silvano and his team. If you want anonymity in a hotel this is NOT the place for you. Silvano goes out of his way to welcome each guest and make them feel at home. He speaks great English and has an infectious humour. We loved it here.

Came here with 3 friends in mid-May 2009, and stayed for a week at Fattoria La Palazzina's farmhouse apartment just down the road from the main house. Accommodations were beautiful, very comfortable and well-supplied. Private pool. Very short drive to the delightful nearby hill town for provisions. A quintessential experience of the Tuscan hill country. Wanted to sink in roots and never leave.

Managers Silvano Mamprin and his wife Eliana Pasquini are deeply and genuinely warm and welcoming, as is their entire team. Couldn't do enough for us. They gave us space to just be, and were equally happy to give us information on anything about the area. Eliana and another Palazzina chef, Rocco, gave me a memorable lesson on making hand-made pasta that made me feel part of the whole life there.

Rolling mountains, olive groves - the fattoria's own olive oil is delicious - make this a fabulous destination to relax, recharge, and explore Tuscany and nearby western Umbria.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
La Palazzina is a hunting villa built in the second half of the XVIIIth century, set on a hill at an altitude of 580 meters above sea level, maintaining its original status of private residence, open to friends and available for rentals. The villa is surrounded by a rich evergreen park with holm-oak and cypress trees and by an olive grove with over 1700 trees, which are sufficient to cover the estate's demand for fresh olive oil. A circular garden adorns the entrance, once utilized as a bird trap for hunting purposes. The villa holds the original traits of a country house used for celebrations of spring harvest festivals.Three large rooms, with fireplaces, as well as a double room with private bathroom, are found on the ground floor leading to a semi-circular outdoor solarium paved with terracotta tiles. Those large rooms are used primarily as a dining room, bar, library and piano room. The 6meters x 12 meters swimming pool offers a breathtaking view of the rolling hills of Tuscany. A 3 double bedroom apartment with one bathroom is on the same side as the swimming pool. The first floor has 8 double rooms, 3 with twin size beds and 5 with king size beds, all with private bathrooms and shower. There are 4 rooms facing the front side, overlooking the garden and facing west and the remaining 4 face the valley of Radicofani to the east. The whole villa is furnished with masterpieces from the 1800's and early 1900's.The Main entrance of the building can be reached by car and guests can park their vehicle next to the large plum tree field.Cooking classes, wine tastings, babysitting services, airport transfers, vehicle rentals, self-driven or with private driver, are some of the services that can be organized on request.15% Special discount on entrance ticket to the SPA of San Casciano dei Bagni and to its wellness packages is available to our guest. To reach the villa by car, take the Chiusi-Chianciano Terme exit on A1, turn left at exit and follow SS478 to Sarteano and then to Radicofani. Before you reach Radicofani, turn left at the Celle sul Rigo crossing on the Strada Provinciale della Valle del Rigo road. The villa’s cypress tree driveway will be on your right hand side after 2km. ... more   less
