“Could be fantastic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

Situation amazing. 2 for 1 be carefull, the prices of some dishes loaded to allow for for pricing. Service a bit slow. Does not come up to the Ramsey rule of 10 mins for service. Good Chips!! very busy pub. Not fantastic , satisfactory.

“Magic of the wrong kind !”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012 via mobile

Been here 3 times and while the parmos are nice , no matter how many people are in there I've ended up waiting an hour each time ! When it's busy you don't mind but at 1.45 pm midweek to wait and hour and no one sat around I think they need a new chef or another one. Foods okay but too squashed and cramped when full. Thinking the pub overlooking town and the river should be the best one !

“Always good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

The food is of fair quality and their regular 2 for 1 deal makes it a good option for when we fancy going out for lunch, but aren't feeling too flush!

“Should be the flagship of Yarm but ........it's not!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

It saddens me that a pub overlooking the river in a gorgeous location should be as bad as it is. The outside should really warn you not to go in. Hanging baskets are all dead - and overdue for external redecoration. Looks awful. Then when you go in, staff can hardly look at you - let alone welcome you an ask "how can I help"!
Chipped crockery, sticky tables, and filthy toilets. And the food is second rate!

Yarm boasts the best high street in the UK and whilst technically the Bluebell may be classed as Eaglescliffe, it sits higher than the High Street and is the worst advert to take you further. I don't know who owns the pub but I think they're missing an opportunity - it should and could be the best place in the village - but it's not!
