Myself and my husband stayed 2 nights at Dalhousie on our honeymoon. Rooms are really pricey, and so we had a standard room, which was really lovely; clean, well decorated; nice bathroom and lovely view. The highlight was the Dungeon Restaurant, the food was wonderful, service great. Another highlight was the brilliant gent who gave us (and another couple) an impromptu ghost walk, great fun and a great character! The only downside on our stay was that it did feel rather like a wedding factory - hotel guests have to walk through wedding parties and several seem to be going on at the same time and knowing how much the rate for this is, (we did consider Dalhousie for our own wedding, but I'm glad we decided on elsewhere), I would not have been happy if I had been one of the brides.

A large group of us are just back from a weekend at Dalhousie Castle and had a wonderful stay. From the friendly and helpful staff to the Castle and surroundings, we loved every minute. The SPA is a treat and offers a great selection of pampering packages. The Library Bar, Dungeon Restuarant and The Orangery are all lovely locations to relax. The various themed rooms are well presented, spacious and clean. The food was very good and the staff were very accomodating and patiently attended to our party at all times.
What topped it off was our tour of the Castle in the wee small hours, learning about its history and hearing the stories associated with the Castle's past. Staff were creating an ambience during the tour and obviously enjoy having an audience to share the history and ghostly goings on there..and one of the cameras did stop working for no reason!
The next morning we spent time at the Falconry and flew some of the eagles, nice way to spend a Sunday morning.
The weather was fab too!
We will always remember our stay at Dalhousie and definately be back to show others around!

Wonderful Castle and terrific staff. For the people who complained about the castle I say if you want the Four Seasons...stay there. Parts of this property are hundreds of years old. We found it magical. We had some travel difficulties not related to the castle and the staff went out of their way to advise us. My 84 year old mother in law participated in the falconery exihibition and had the time of her life. We extended our stay another night because we had so much fun. Very relaxing, and the kids loved all the bunnies and deer on the grounds. The creepy employee referred to is a gentlemen who loves to talk about the castle and "scare" people with dungeon stories. He had us laughing the whole stay.

From all the castles in Scotland you can’t beat Dalhousie’s location – just 15 minutes drive from the center of Edinburgh and wild nature all over around. You have plenty of stuff to see in the neighborhoods if you travel by car, enjoy the life of Scotland’s capital and experience the loneliness of countryside in the castle. Although it is definitely a huge plus of the place, it has its side affects. As someone had already mentioned, Dalhousie castle management knows so well about these advantages, that they no longer care about the high standard of their job. In whole, we were all right with our accommodation in the castle. We had a Cockpen room 8 with a lovely terrace and beautiful 2 story bed. But although everything was fine, we expected a little more attention since it was our honeymoon and the hotel manager was way too aware of it. The receptionist was pretty cold and arrogant, we had no complimentary or special attention. But most of all we didn’t appreciated the dinner we had in the Orangery restaurant on the arrival. The food was pretty poor and not tasteful, and the charges they have were exceptional! We wouldn’t mind the money if it was worth it! It certainly wasn’t! All and all our experience was all right, but you could wish for more. And find it! Like a warm welcome in Castle Stuart in the Highlands!

Having booked our wedding at Dalhousie castle and then read several negative reviews, I was a somewhat concerned bride when I arrived at Dalhousie for my wedding weekend.

I have to say that my worries were for nothing and the service we receieved was excellent. Everything was done to a high standard and my husband and I felt totally relaxed and that our guests were in great hands. The food was great and served on time and well presented. The duty manager Liz was also a fantastic help taking care of any unexpected issues with our guests too.

Our rooms were all to a high standard (we had pretty much taken over the hotel and I myself viewed atleast ten of the rooms).

All in all our wedding was perfect and I would recommend the venue to anyone.
