We visited the Lion on a Saturday night for a quick meal as we were both feeling too lazy to cook after returning from holiday.
It was difficult to find a table. Not because there were a lot of diners but because of a lot of drinkers enjoying the cheap drinks!
It was to be expected I suppose as it is a pub after all.
We eventually found a table and ordered a burger meal and a mixed grill.
It wasnt the quickest service and when the meal did arrive it wasnt the hottest. The table was still littered with dishes so it was a case of putting our plates down and picking up the dirty ones!
They seemed to be a little short staffed to cope with both the busy bar and to wait and clear the tables.
I know others have spoken highly of the Lion so perhaps we caught it on a bad night.
The prices are good, but on our visit the food and service were not.
