“will be returning”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

Booked a table on the basis of previous reviews and was not disappointed. The set menu offered very good value and the steak i had was cooked perfectly, in fact all the dishes we saw coming out of the kitchen looked and smelt delicous. Service was attentive and efficient, it helped that it was early evening which meant we dined in a peaceful atmosphere. The complimentary dessert was a nice gesture (my birthday). I can also recommend the house wine, we had a carafe of the merlot, great value. It deserves to be a popular venue in wallasey and having found it by chance we will add vino vino to our favourites list.

“A little touch of Italy in Wallasey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

The atmosphere in Vino Vino is warm and convivial. The menu is varied and the food is consistently good. Portions are huge and the house wine is reasonably priced. My wife and I always enjoy dining here. It is to be recommended.

“Nice food, good portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

Nice food, good portions. Have been a few times, the food is good and reasonable price, chicken dishes are great . Mushroom starters in garlic very tasty.

Nit picking complaint, too much sauce smothers the steak, would be better served on the side.

“Superb food and the best service ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

We have been going here since it opened about ten years ago, and visit regularly. We always book for special occasions and decided we would eat here on Xmas Eve. The head waiter, Arvin was his usual warm, welcoming self and we(3 people) settled down with a carafe of house Pinot Grigio and checked out the menu; as has been stated before, there is a two and three course set menu at a very good price, and they had a special festive set menu which we mixed with the a la carte menu...not like some other restaurants that don't like you to do this.
Starters: pate, creamy garlic mushrooms and soup of the day were large portions, all very good and fresh. Main: steak, cannelloni, seafood tagliatelle also large servings and beautifully cooked .Desserts: cheesecake, tiramisu, apple pie....appetites completely satisfied!
After a break we had coffees, Sambuca and limoncello to finish and left in our usual state of total satisfaction.
The main points to remember here are that of course, the food has to be good for us to keep going back, but this restaurant has it's own identity, unlike many of the restaurant "chains" that have now taken up occupation in New Brighton...they just want to 'upsell' to every customer to maximise the spend per head, feed you, bill you and push you out of the door to fill the seats again...all within about 90 minutes.
Vino Vino is not like this; our visit lasted about three and a half hours, we spoke with Arvin and his assistant about all manner of things ( a conversation ) and he discussed our meals in detail and amended them to our preference, even with set menu items...this has never happened to me in any of the 'corporate' restaurants.
We local residents need to support the smaller independent restaurants, as well as trying the new outlets as we need all different types of options to keep things interesting.
We will always return here as the ambience is friendly, welcoming, relaxed and they will put up decorations for your Birthday or anniversary if you want them to; they will even play your own CD's if you ask them!!. Arvin, David and the team always treat us like old friends and when you leave you know you have had great value for your hard earned money.
We cannot recommend this place highly enough, give them a try...you will not be disappointed.

“Lovely ambiance - good service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

We enjoyed a very relaxed meal with family we were visiting. The service was very good and friendly.

We chose two different types of garlic bread to share as a starter. They were a great size and we all had plenty. I particularly enjoyed the cheese one. We ordered three steaks and one risotto, all arrived in good time and were very nice, the steaks were quite large! The bottle of wine on offer was lovely! The only thing that my husband didn't care for was the huge amount of 'very' under done carrots!!

Next time we are 'down South' we will be certain to return to Vino Vino.
