“Great value - no faults”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

Stayed 2 nights for business. Impressed by large room overlooking garden with plenty of bunnies; saw a robin & a green woodpecker. Very clean. Had a good sleep. Bed had seen better days but was fine for the price. Next to a food court which as a solo female traveller I didn't enjoy - lots of groups of males some quite rude to me in a queue. Got my order and quickly went back to room but this is not the fault of the hotel. The only thing I noticed in a negative sense was that reception after a hot day smelt strongly of drains & it wasn't a pleasant welcome. If it's like that all summer it needs fixing. Would return but not to food court.

We stayed for 2 nights for a wedding and then an air show at Duxford. For a family of 3 and at sixty pounds for 2 nights, I would say the stay was worth every penny. Booking in was a breeze. It's basic but the bed is a king size with a firm mattress so no bouncing about every time your partner moves, unlike other unnamed Inn chains that might offer you different types of pillow. You can't swop a mattress..... The room was very quiet too. In the morning could walk through into the service station for a cooked breakfast but we chose instead to buy fruit salad in M&S as we'd had massive meals in the evening!

Well located in a service area close to A14. The ceiling in the shower needs repair, the AC was not working. The mattress was out of date with springs and not comfortable at all.
For breakfast you have to choose in advance with a limited choice and only one portion of your choice per person and you have to pay 4.95 p´p, so you're better have breakfast somewhere else.

Room Tip: Choose a room not facing the parking.

In my opinion Days Inns are the best of the budget hotels on our motorway network.
This is a comfortable stopover to break long journeys in eastern England. Rooms are a good size , clean, comfortable and offer free wi-fi, newspaper and Wyndham rewards goody bag. Staff have been very helpful in arranging for printing of work documents and in onward directions when the M11 is closed.

Catering is limited to the motorway service area but the 4pain French chain is a cut above the usual takeaway outlets.

However, I do not think it is helpful that the hotel now sells alcohol. It used to be the case that these hotels on motorways were 'dry' and therefore less threatening to solo travellers than the current boozer-friendly/stag party mentality.

A very basic Hotel. The staff were helpful. I booked a Twin Room and the bed was comfortable but I was not over impressed with the facilities on offer. There was no breakfast facility in the Hotel. Unfortunately the hotel was located close to the A14, and one could hear the traffic throughout the night.

Stayed 1 night at this hotel which was just off the motorway and was very easy to locate. Reception was extremely polite and helpful. Check-in was swift. Booked family room for 2 adults and 4 kids (ages 1, 3, 6 and 10). Room was extremely large and there was enough beds or the whole family to spend a comfortable night. There were several eateries just next door (Costa, Macdonalds etc) if you dont fancy hotel food. Ample brightly lit parking area just in front of the hotel

Days Inn have revolutionised budget hotels and I have really sung their praises in the past. They are a good price, location is always good, the rooms are decent sized, there are plenty of power points (really important for those of us who travel with lots of technical gear) and the staff are always friendly and these points all apply to this hotel. But I was a little dissapointed that the walls had quite a few scuffs on them, the hot water in the shower was not particularly hot and the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. And breakfast (which I have raved about at other Days Inns) looked good in the picture but turned out to be a very small croissant and yogurt and a cup of orange juice. It was all fine and I'll probably stay here again but Days Inn can do and normally does better than this.
