If you're visiting the Moray Firth area I can't recommend this charming little hotel highly enough. Superbly priced in a fab location (you can see dolphins from your room!!!) with a varied menu, this is an ideal base for visiting this corner of Scotland. The little town of Macduff might not have much to offer in itself but
it's a very short drive to Speyside and the whisky trail, close to loads of castles, golf courses and fishing rivers and within easy reach of Inverness and Aberdeen.

The rooms are modern and tastefully decorated and you're guaranteed a genuinely warm welcome and attentive service from Debbie and John and their attentive staff.

Following a number of overnight stays at the Knowes Hotel in Macduff, I thought I would write a review to advise how good it is.
The hotel has been extensively refurbished since being taken over by new owners & the room that I have stayed in has been very clean & tidy with a fantastic shower & a cracking view over the Moray Firth.
The hotel is located high above the harbour & consists of a small number of bedrooms, with a restaurant & public bar.
The freshly prepared food is great & I can thoroughly recommend the Cullen Skink.
The owners & staff are very accomodating & I have been made very welcome during my visits.
