“First visit here, but certainly not the last!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

Went here with a large group for a farewell dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the vibe and the excellent service. Noise levels are an issue (although it might just be I'm getting old) but not unacceptably so. The food is something different, was well presented and quite tasty. Wine selection is quite good, with most available by the glass.

“Father's Day treat - yes indeed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Went with wife and 2 teenagers for Father's Day 1/9/13 ie. Sunday lunch on first day of spring - and The Botanist matched the stunning, sunny weather outside. Having been to Milson's numerous times (and heaven forbid The Plum going way back!) it was quite a turn up to see what they've done with this space. High tables and stools all round, seriously cool music and happy, attentive, professional young staff. Indulged myself with a Bloody Botanist cocktail - essentially a Bloody Mary but with beetroot juice - serious kick to it. There is a standard lunch menu or on Saturdays and Sundays a special Brunch menu. It's definitely a place for sharing plates eg. slider mini burgers; 4 flavour choices including Alaskan crab and prawn - beautiful, fresh and generous. I would hesitate to call it Tex-Mex because that doesn't do it justice but I've been to SoCal many times and it had that feel to it for me but with more subtlety of both taste and size of portions. Only 2 desserts but both were marvellous - these are blackboard items so will change but do think about it at least. Very reasonable wine list and everyone was happy. This is a feel good, eat well, great value proposition to go to with family, friends, work colleagues and feel equally at home. Look forward to returning.

“Great makeover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Not sure how long this restaurant / bar has been changed to it's current name and décor but it has been extremely well done. We had breakfast and we all enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly and nothing was a problem. Loved the Botanist Fizz we drank. We'll return - probably for dinner.

“Great location - fabulous evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

My daughter and I stumbled upon this restaurant whilst looking for somewhere to take some dear friends whilst staying in Sydney - and what a find it turned out to be. Situated away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney centre - it was close to our hotel and an ideal place to meet. The food was first class with plenty of choice and it was a 'shared' meal - our friends had driven some distance to see us and agreed that it was a super place. Loved Kirribilli, loved Sydney and I had a fab evening spent with my husband and daughter catching up with with very dear friends - good food and good wine - perfect evening all round. Thank you.

“Can be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Yes Kiribilli needs funky joints and staff that care... Totally get it, but if your doing whats around that's the trend and launching it in a new suburb you need to be better than what was sampled. Didn't enjoy the food, boring tacos... Two were cold, sliders ok but no wow factor. Cocktails were the stand out.
Will return at a later stage, once the hype dies down.
