“Excellent hotel, a bit remote.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

We have stayed at Parador Canaro for 5 days. We really liked the hotel. The room was excellent: big, renovated and clean, the wifi was slowwwwww. The breakfast was great and the service was very kind. Whenever we needed help from the reception, they gladly assisted.
The hotel is quiet and peaceful, which we liked a lot. If you are looking to party, this hotel is less relevant for you. The location (Incles) is a bit remote from Soldeu, which offers bars, restaurants and a few shops. (15 – 20 min walk, 20 euros by taxi) the road can be covered with ice and unpleasant. No taxis on the streets (just through reception).
El tartar is closer to the hotel, but for some reason there is no pavement to walk there. The hotel offers transportation to El tartar ski site very efficiently up till 17:00, when the ski site closes.
Overall we enjoyed our stay in the hotel a lot, and we defiantly recommend to others.

This was our first trip to the Princpat of Andorra. We did not want to stay anywhere near the famous duty free shopping centers so we chose to reserve a room in Canillo.

The Parador Canaro was exactly what we wanted. It is centrally located to the ski slopes, hiking trails, mountain biking venues and interesting road trips, i.e. France.

Upon check-in we were greeted by a very nice young man who spoke excellent English and very informed on the surroundings. We went to our room and to our dismay it had two beds and my reservation was for a double bed. I returned to the desk and the gentleman made an apology and gave us another room with the preferred accommodations. The new room was spacious, clean, quite and the bed very comfortable.
Our room rate included breakfast which we found to be more than adequate. The egg entree changed each day as did fruit selections and pastries. The service was less than warm but non-offensive.
The bar service was excellent and prices were modest. They even provided a bag of ice for my wife's bruised ankle from a slight accident earlier in the evening.
The manager assisted my wife with spa reservations and helped me with restaurant recommendations, both experiences were great.
The big question is would we return to this hotel when we visit for skiing next year, yes we will.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road

We have just returned from our ski holiday in Andorra: we have found the hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews and I am more than happy to contribute my feedback for Parador Canaro.
The rooms are spacious and very clean, with very comfy bathroom and nice overview of the slopes. The hotel crew was very helpful, making our stray in Parador really friction-less experience. And the hotel restaurant had supported us with good selection of dishes, local and intl; the food is tasty and comes in good portions.
We have found this hotel to be not directly on the slopes nor close to the ski-lifts, but that was actually not a problem as the guests have ski-bus running on-demand to the slopes in the morning and back; actually the location was quiet and it allowed good relaxation in the evening.

The hotel location is very good for skiing , there is debutant slop near hotel as well as ski school for kids. Also 15 min drive to Andorra Vella , where a lot of good restaurants and shops. Rooms are big enough to stay with kids.

Great hotel with spacious comfortable room. Excellent bathroom with 2 sinks and a massive bath! Great breakfast - even has champagne! Great if you've hired a car with a free car park. There's a free shuttle to the ski slopes and a bus into soldeu which takes 1 minute. Would definitely go again!

We stayed here for a week with 2 friends just last week on a weeks skiing holiday over New Year & thoroughly enjoyed our stay again. We were there in March 2012 also. This time we stayed B & B as we wanted to experience the local restaurants especially on New Years' Eve. Overall we had a lovely stay but as it was a holiday period is was understandably very busy especially with lots of families. This meant lots of kids running around not just in the cafe bar area but in the corridors too. This meant it could be a bit noisy at times. Also our room, although on the top (4th) floor was overlooking the main road so there was a lot of traffic noise. Our friends had a room on the 1st floor which overlooked the ski slopes (their own ones) & it was much quieter. In March we had great rooms also overlooking the slopes & it was quiet & peaceful.
It is great for families who have young children learning to ski as you don't need to go to the main slopes to have lessons. Would also be great for adult learners too.
They have a lovely open fire downstairs in the TV lounge but we found that they didn't often light it. As there were lots of logs we lit it ourselves most evenings & it was gorgeous. We brought our own DVD's so watched a couple of movies while we were there. Lovely & relaxing after an energetic day skiing.
The staff are friendly & helpful & looked after us very well.
Breakfast is typically Spanish so don't expect a huge fry-up, but there are lots of sweet things as well as cava on offer. You definitely will not go hungry!
The rooms are spacious & well appointed with 3 different types - standard, superior & superior with jacuzzi bath. The ones with jacuzzi bath are much larger with huge bathrooms & lots of extras. The superior ones are great too & this is what we had on this occasion.
The courtesy coach which takes you to the ski lifts at El Tarter is a very efficient service & the driver was fantastic. Such a kind & helpful man. He also offered to take us to Soldeu one day when he discovered we were going to drive there ourselves.
As Soldeu is a 5 minute drive up the road & we would prefer to be in the middle of things we will stay somewhere else next time. Pity we couldn't take this hotel & move it up the road!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road, right around the corner. Also one away from the elevators a...

Chose this hotel mainly on price - got two nights B&B plus two days' ski passes for two people for €314 via the Grandvalira tourist board (the Sport in Soldeu would have been €100 more expensive) - and glad I chose it. Apparently the hotel was refurbished 4 years ago and it shows where the rooms/lifts are concerned. Very spacious and quiet, though I imagine rooms by the road would be noisy. Breakfast more than adequate, skibus to El Tarter was virtually a personal service, there's a hire shop (with very friendly staff) underneath, and for beginners, the hotel has its own small ski slope next door. Walking into Soldeu for dinner was an uphill 15 minute trek (though it's obviously faster downhill on the way back), so a car is useful. Overall, would happily recommend this hotel if you don't mind staying a little way out of Soldeu.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road are noisy.
