I am just back after having a wonderful 2 night break (2 B&B plus 1 evening meal) at the Cedars.
It was my husband’s birthday and I wanted to surprise him with a weekend away.
From the moment I spoke to Kelly on the phone to arrange the booking until the moment we left, Kelly, Ryan & their staff looked after us
I had chosen one of the deluxe suites of which there are 2. The bedroom was beautifully appointed and very spacious, in fact the bathroom was huge. Ours was the one with the four poster bed & pink carpet – If you look on their website.
We dined in the Rectory Bistro both nights, the menu is brilliant & I would advise booking a table, as it is very busy - that said, it is so cosy you don’t seem to notice the other people there.
The food was fantastic, our first night we had the fish pie, it was amazing and we only had clean plates to show our appreciation. We then sat in the bar and chatted to other guests who were staying, it was a lovely relaxed evening.
Breakfast the next morning was lovely, there was a great choice from cereal, fruit, yogurts and a cooked breakfast - it was all lovely and set us up for the day ahead.
On our second day, I had arranged for friends to join us, Kelly & her team arranged for them to be in the next room to ours & even sneaked them upstairs past our room, so not to give the surprise away.
Our meal on the Saturday night, was excellent again, this time we all went for the steak, it was fantastic, in presentation & taste. The staff in the restaurant where very friendly and chatted about the food that was on the menu.
I had arranged a birthday cake for my husband and at the end of our meal, one of the young waitresses brought the cake into the restaurant singing Happy Birthday along the way, she was very sweet & we really did appreciated the way it was done.
The service we received both nights in the bar & bistro was really good, nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile.
We left the restaurant and relaxed in the bar for the rest of the evening.
All in all, the Cedars is a lovely, it is more than just a guest house, Kelly & Ryan invite you into their home and make you feel really special, while not being intrusive.
I would recommend the Cedars to anyone, you will not be disappointed & of course I would recommend the deluxe suites, it is worth it..
My husband was delighted with the surprise weekend break and we would both like to thank Kelly, Ryan and all the staff for making us feel special at the Cedars.
We hope to be returning soon.
I would book one of the deluxe suites

We would like to thank you for such a great response. As I said before in another response, Cedars is our home and my brother and I are pleased that you felt that sense of family. We love guests to arrive as strangers and leave as friends. This business is hard work, but reading a response like yours makes it all worth while. We are pleased that your husband had a great birthday weekend and we hope to see you both again soon.
