We enjoyed the outside areas, as they were well maintained and well decorated. The room was made up every day, but had a few issues on check in, which were minor and quickly taken care of.
The transfer by shuttle from the airport took about 40 minutes and was very nice, as our driver explained us the different towns & places. The hotel is located next to a main road, which is not extremely busy. "Playa el agua" isn't far away and the walk is a maximum of 5 minutes depending on your location in the hotel complex.
We booked a Premier room hoping we receive something a little bit better. The room felt more like a Standard room in a european hotel (we know it is South America and not Europe), as it was not well decorated and had a few issues. The curtain was hanging down and a few hairs were missed on the floor. These problems were quickly resolved. The size of the room was comfortable and the little balcony nice in the evening. I saw people getting the drinks from the bar and taking them to the room. You will have to pay for the safe in your room, even you booked Premier, as nobody will pay for lost items if they are not in the safe. We had 2 double beds in the room and 4 people could easily fit in there. The a/c was really cold, but we turned it off and opened the balcony door all night.
Service: The breakfast service was good, the tables cleaned quickly, but still in a relaxed South American way. The beach boy & the beach supervisor did an excellent job, they were looking after the people all day and advising them to look after their valuables. The staff was very friendly and always happy to help. The reception staff did a good job but was a little short of staff in busy times. It looks like everybody has a mobile and it gets a bit annoying to see everybody checking it every 2 minutes.
The food was basic and not really good.
Breakfast: Good and you had a few venezuelan options.
Lunch: Hot dogs and Pasta in the one restaurant and meat dishes and pasta and salads etc. in the main restaurant.
Dinner: We had dinner in the italian restaurant for both nights, as the main restaurant was extremely hot and felt more like a canteen. The italian restaurant is open, spacious and nicely decorated, the pasta and pizza dishes were pretty basic. We thought it is sad that they serve so many foreign dishes, as we love the venezuelan kitchen and it would be an advantage to have it in one restaurant or may be have an a la carte were you could choose different food.
Overall: The stay in the hotel was good for a short trip, as we planned it. We loved the external areas and the main pool. At the beach you can enjoy the sea & some cocktails, the venders are around all day, but you can still relax on the deck chair, if you don't mind to say "No, Gracias" every five minutes. This is normal in Margarita. We liked it and would come back for a short trip, as we couldn't bear the food for a long period of time. The cost was a bit high for the overall, but we made the right decision in booking a Premier room.
