We went to this hotel in 2006 during 1 week in the beginning of august. The rooms are very clean and made up every day. Also the bathroom was very clean and well kept. We just had a standard room. We asked to visit some other rooms, so that the next time that we go, we knew which room we would like to have. We took half-pension and I must say that this was a really stunning menu we received. Every day it was a surprise. Also the breakfast was fresh and a nice choice. The hotel doesn't have a swimming pool, but if you go through the parc you can follow the path during 5 minutes to Durbach and you have there a well kept public outdoor swimming pool. We are tenissers and we received a key at the touristic office (we paid a small fee) to go to the local tennis club. The courts were very well kept and the locals were very friendly and helpfull. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. One disadvantage: if you don't speak German, you could have a problem of communication. We recommended the hotel to my parents who do not speak German and even if the French boarder is on 10 minutes, they couldn't be helped in French. The hotel surroundings are so marvelous. At the back of the nice parc (paradise) there are different paths to go for hiking in the surroundings. Durbach is known for its vineyards and really, ... just take your walking shoes with you. You will be so amazed of the beautifull panoramas in this small valley. It is like 2 hours walk to the top of the castle "Schloss Staufenberg" where you have a splendid view, till Straatsburgh. You can eat there "Flammenküchen" and try some of the local wines. I really recommend you to visit the Durbach Wine Cellars and try some of the local wines. You will be surprised. It is a rear but nice pearl! If you want to go to Straatsburgh, it is like 15 km away.
