“A Wonderful Stay In Beautiful Surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

For anyone wanting to explore this part of France or simply to relax on their holiday, this wonderful location and accommodation is perfect! Situated within walking distance of the market town of Miramont-de- Guyenne, you are given the opportunity to discover beautiful towns and countryside this part of France has too offer. Alternatively, you can take a stroll round the large mature gardens and take a dip in the good sized swimming pool. My family and I stay in the Gite, which is well equiped to help you feel comfortable. Are excellent hosts, Nigel and Tina are always on hand to see your need are met, without been too intrusive. We will certainly be returning to this lovely place soon.

Nestled in a lovely Bastide town, Le Grand Bois offers fantastic accommodation whilst you are exploring the Dordorgne area of France. The main house has been beautifully restored and offers Bed & Breakfast, and dinner on request. We were fortunate to book the Gite for our family holiday this year the little house has been decorated as beautifully as the main house.
Tina and Nigel could not have made us feel more at home! the fridge was stocked with essentials (milk, beer & orange juice) and fresh coffee was also provided! not something we wer expecting at all.
Our children were encouraged to make use of the pool as soon as we arrived and were given access to all of the grounds on their bikes, which they had hours of fun exploring. Tina also loaned us the use of some paints, colouring pencils and paper on a rainy afternoon!
Tina and Nigel are exceptional hosts, nothing is too much trouble and they have excellent knowlege of the area, highlighting some great places to visit, and suggesting some tried and tested restaurants to us.
Le Grand Bois is a truely fabulous place to stay and I can not recommend it highly enough! Tina and Nigel have got thier offering absolutley spot on! Well Done.

Room Tip: Towels for the pool are provided - save you space in your luggage

Stunning House, Stunning Welcome and an absolute gem of a find. Nigel and Tina have got it so right with their venture into the B&B world and with this property and their attitude and work ethic, this place is a must fir you if you are visiting the area.

We are lucky enough to have the Gite built onto the side of the stunning main house and believe me, you could want for nothing more. Every box has been ticked and the rear if the Gite opens up onto the garden which has over 5 acres of land and a magnificent outdoor pool.

The are is truly beautiful and our hosts kindly showed us around some if the small villages which are breathtaking in their beauty. How many othe B&B owners would give this much if their time especially in August.

Thank you both and DEFINITELY see you again.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Le Grand Bois. From the minute you arrive the hosts Nigel and his wife Tina make your stay very comfortable with their warm friendly manner. You can either stay in their Gite which is attached to the main house and sleeps 4 or have B & B in the main house. We chose to stay in the main house and our room was large with big en-suite bathroom, and beautiful furniture. Our room had a large flat screen tv, dvd and tea and coffee facilities. The Grand Bois is situated in a beautiful 5acre garden with swimming pool and lots of areas to sit. The hosts have renovated the building to a very high standard. Tina provides a good continental breakfast and excellent evening meal should you require it. There are pretty French villages full of charm to visit in quite close proximity and Nigel has an excellent knowledge of the area and will be delighted to help you plan the places to visit to make your stay enjoyable. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend staying there. It is Fab!!!!!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautifully furnished and they all look onto the well maintained gardens. It is in...

After a two week stay at this lovely place, we only can praise Tina and Nigel for their sense of hospitality, the top-quality of the mansion they have renovated with outstanding taste. You lack nothing: from the superb Breakfast in British beautiful China, the great counseling to visit the region, a superb accomodation (we have tasted both the B&B and the "gîte") and some gentle attentions (would you like to enjoy a glass of regional wine, would you like some fresh eggs from our neighbour's?). And some evenings you spend with your guests who deploy their humor and kindness for the sake of wonderful moments. This is a good lead for new links of friendship! We would love to add another star.. But there are only 5!

Room Tip: Fitness center is not available, but the pool is beautiful and clean, the "room" service i...

This B & B is a lovely “retreat” in the French countryside. My husband and I stayed here for a few days with three other couples - we had a great time. The owners (Tina and Nigel) were wonderful, made you feel at home and quite helpful with arranging winery, historical and scenic tours for us.

Our room overlooking the garden was quiet, charming, and spacious with a very comfortable bed. There were plenty of towels and amenities available in the room.
The food was excellent, lots of choices for breakfast and our group ordered two specialty dinners that were superb.

Especially enjoyed the "G & T’s" served on the patio.

We will definitely go back and stay longer.
