“Very comfortable B&B just outside Salisbury”

Newton Farmhouse

Feb 26, 2008

Stayed here with friends while visiting Salisbury for a wedding. Situated around 10-15 minutes south of the town on the main route in, and as such is easy to find, with nice walks in the vicinity to stetch the legs and clear the head. Owner and staff very friendly, welcoming, and the cooked breakfast was superb. Rooms very comfortable and clean - highly recommended.

“Great service”

Newton Farmhouse

I booked several rooms at the farmhouse for the weekend for a group of us attending a local wedding. When we arrived on Friday night the proprietor Lizzie told us that a couple of friends were at the local pub and offered to drive us there but when they appeared back she invited us to use the main reception room and provided a couple of bottles of wine and glasses which was the perfect way to spend the remainder of the evening. Brilliant service, spotless well stocked rooms (coffee, herbal teas, biscuits and chocolates) and an excellent cooked breakfast. Recommended.

“A home from home”

We were made very welcome by our hosts, who were happy to wait up for us to arrive on the Friday night, provided us with good local knowledge on how best to get into Salisbury when it's busy and kept us well-fed on an excellent English breakfast. Further to this, when I discovered that a previous occupant had helped themself to the room's hairdryer, Lizzie insisted on lending me her own!

This was the first B&B my sister and I stayed at during our 10 day trip to the UK and Ireland. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the owners David and Lizzie. We were taken to our room - a twin room. It was set apart from the house and was very lovely. It was nice and tidy, nicely decorated, and the bathroom was nicely appointed. The grounds were beautiul as well. David and Lizzie provided us with some recommendations for lunch and dinner.: Lambs Inn - cute Pub, but the food wasn't all the great. But dinner was out of this world - The Fountain Inn. It's just across the road. Very quaint. Breakfast in the morning was really delicious and served in their beautiful atrium. I would definitely want to stay here again.

“A perfect few days away”

Newton Farmhouse

Oct 12, 2007

Just would like to thank Lizzie, David and staff for a fantastic few days. Definitely worth going to if you are looking at getting away from the big city. Very easy to get to the surrounding towns and cities and major attractions in the area. Highly recommend you take Lizzie and David's advice about the pubs and restaurants in the area, as they were spot-on. The breakfast that was served was plentiful and full of flavour, the rooms were homely, spacious and most importantly had comfortable beds. Could have not asked for more. Thank you thank you
