“Nice ambience, but that's about it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Great, outdoor dining. Friendly people. However, my chicken was overcooked and dry... and the service (though friendly) was quite slow. If you've got plenty of time, the slow service isn't really an issue and you can enjoy the scenery while you're waiting... but don't go here if you're in a hurry.

“So How Can A Beach Restaurant Make Food This Great?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

I don't know the answer to the question, but who cares, the food and service are outstanding. We had lunch at Waikiki at least five times in February 2013 and were never dissapointed. Everything and I mean everything is excellent. Shrimp, burgers (order 1 for two people), tartar de boeuf, carpaccio de boeuf, shrimp tempura, shrimp cocktail, sushimi, steaks, fresh fish, desserts beyond description.... By the way, it's only loud on Sunday afternoons when the locals party. The party (a great party) starts with a fashion show at 1:00 followed by an all out party at about 3:00. yes, it's loud, but it's a lot of fun. Waikiki also does an occasional party at night which is spectacular.

“Lunch on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

We ate lunch at the beach almost daily and we were served surprisingly great food (and presentation) by very friendly staff. Cold drinks were kept in a bucket with ice and a low wooden table pushed into the sand was placed in front of the loungers for us to eat. I felt like a queen!

“Food was good but service is horrible”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

My gal pal and I arrived in the afternoon in St. Martin and went to Waikiki since it was close to our hotel. We both had the sashimi tuna salads which were good but that's the only good thing I can say about this place except that it's right on the beach and the view is spectacular. The drinks were watered down and the service could not have been worse. Our waitress came by after an interminable wait. There were several waitresses and not many people so it wasn't as if it was a busy time. When she finally came to our table, she acted like she was going out of her way to take our order and looked bored when we asked questions about the menu. It could have been that the drinks were watered down because they sat so long before she brought them to our table, the ice melted. At one point, we even collared another waitress for something we needed. This would not be on my recommended list.

“Splurge for lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Order the mahi-mahi skewer (you get 5) which comes with salad and a savoury dipping sauce, simply delicious! You can't beat the view from the great patio. Fun for people watching too.
