“AMUSEMENT JOUNEY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

It is the first time I had thrilling and amusing journey in a Jeep to kodachadri hills. 27th after by 1.30 PM we consisting of 14 No. team hired two Taxis for journey to Kodachadri. The climate was very clear not much temperature or less. The journey took round about 40 km. first 22 km journey was in Shimoga road then next 18 km journey with dusted mud road. We can not call it as Road but hilly path with more curves, ups and down. The jeeps were rolling over mud. Its took more than 2 hrs to cover up the mud road. We thought that we are enjoying the wonder land of kids. It was a amazing experience. We reached at top, where our vehicle can go at 3.00PM. While we inquire about the Adi Sankara Peed and cave the local people said that we have to walk further 2 hours to reach there. We Could not go farther because we have to care about our return journey. We return by 4 PM and reached at Kollur by 6.00 PM half an hour early.

The Kodachadri hills are very beautiful and pleasant. No mist or koda in hills. Normally the tourist can not enjoy the beauty due to heavy fog and mist. But we got the chance to enjoy the beauty with out this. amazing hills, curves, trees, plain lands, each and every where thrilling scenario.
My suggestion is at least once you visit Kodachadri and enjoy the Cosmic wonder.

“Trek on Kodachadri”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

Kodachadri is a great weekend trip from Bangalore(approx 395kms) especially for Trekking enthusiasts. Based on where you start the trek, distance varies. Last weekend we did trek from Pathalagere - Iddalumane falls- sunset point, kodachadri peak and back which was around 25km. Throughout the trek it is green and quiet.

Feeling like heaven...A must visit place in once life time. It's just 30 km away from Kollur. Travel upto Nagara on your transport. To reach on top of the hill, will need to travel by jeep. Its a roller coaster drive! Once you reach the top of the hill, you are in Heaven! Beautiful just can't take your eyes off! May have trouble in...

“must try before u die !!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Green green every where .... it is what u can scream here.. probably the only place in india which is completely covered with green thick forest.. there r 3 points from where u can start this journey.. sampekkate, nittur or kollur.. if ur visiting kollur then can hire the jeep from kollur itself or can take the jeep from other two places.. we drove our vehicle till sampekatte ..upto entrance to the hill n hired a jeep for 6 of us . there r many jeeps at this place but better to go on weekends or holidays ..other days there will b no much crowd n jeepwala will not go untill he gets required no of passengers.. we hired a jeep of manjunath tourists.. and mr prakash was very well mannered guy n made our journey very comfortable .. the best part of the journey is the jeep ride which is roller coaster on the rocky pathetic road n will take the hell out of u.. once u reach the top there r few small temples n again a trek of 2 km is required to get to the peak which is called sarvajna peetha. there is also another place which is again a 1.5km trek believed have some medicinal plants.. n told there will b some yogis doing meditation... since lack of time v could not visit that place..there is no proper accommodation on the top hence one has to stay in some homestays down the hill. over all a place to see in a lifetime

May have trouble in spending a night there as there no facility. Yup, there is an IB however, its scary as the building is in a sad state. You can get a home stay if you request the temple preist, he will mostly say yes and agree to allow max 12 people. Food is also served.

Its fun with leechs:-)

A must visit waterfalls called Hitlumane falls.
