“Relaxing site & easy accesss to beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This site is very relaxing and well organised. The pitches are very generous, with hedgerows for privacy if required. There are water taps on most pitches and refuse bins are abundant and emptied daily. The washing facilities are spotless and up to date. There is a welcoming swimming pool and a very friendly bar. All staff are multilingual and very helpful. There is an
very generous amount of information available for all visitors. Well worth a stay.

We visited this campsite during the first 2 weeks of August 2012,we took our tourer and absolutely loved the campsite. We've had a few nightmare experiences camping abroad but this is the best campsite I've ever stayed on in France,Italy and Spain. The place is spotless and modern and the staff are very helpful and polite. The pool area is great with various pools depending on your personnal choice with plentiful sunbeds even in August.
The food in the Restaurant on site is great as is the one across the road, the drinks are well priced and the animation team do a good job with the kids. The beach is good with a bit of surf for those into watersports, the beach bar is also well worth a visit as is the boat trip from Escala which takes you on a tour of the great caves off the coast.
Had a great family holiday which everyone enjoyed, would recommend this campsite to anyone.

We took a pitch for a camping car. Although we came without reservation we got a printed out map with currenty available pitches and a chance to walk through the whole camping area to choose one we like. The camping is well managed, the pools are large enough and well maintained with lifeguard on duty. The supermarket is well equiped. Camping staff is very helpful and speaking multiple languages including english, of course.
We liked the beach near the camp, there are great dunes and the sea is clean.
Strongly recommended.

We have just returned from L'Amfora - 9 nights. The pitch we were given was on a large field and we were surrounded on all sides by other tents/caravans and motorhomes, there was absolutely no privacy at all and only 2 water taps for many.
Whilst the site is immaculate, the cleaner on permanent duty in our toilet block was incredibly rude and at times aggressive. If you spent longer than a few minutes in the shower at peak times, she would bang loudly on the cubicle door, shouting to 'get out'. The banging would continue until you open the door and/or leave. I observed her doing this every night - totally unacceptable and disgraceful behaviour to paying guests.
The evening entertainment is supposed to finish at 11pm but most evenings continued until nearly midnight and noise from other nearby campsites/beach area continued well into the early hours (sometimes it never stopped) this included cars screeching and driving fast on road adjacent to beech.
The pools were great and loungers in plentiful supply. If you sit down to watch the evening entertainment you will be approached instantly to purchase drinks - often before you even sit down!!
Didn't find reception staff particularly welcoming and we were not given any information (though brouchures are scattered around if you want them).
If you are hoping for a peaceful and quiet holiday with plenty of sleep - avoid L'Amfora. I'm coming home for some sleep!

IN ENGLISH.
We spend a week in August 2010 in a Mobil Home Family Prestige with my wife and my 3 children.
The camping is perfectly located with direct access to the beach, accommodations are always accessible and clean, pitches are large enough and well delimited, swimming pool is very nice, Mobil Home is perfectly equipped, clean, with air conditioning.
So why do I quote it that way?
Because the restaurant tenant of the camping send 3 muscled guys to frighten me and my family.
The story is that one:
- The camping promote “night time festivities” as entertainment in is website.
- The third night, I went with my family and sat close to the show area.
- Someone came and ask me what did we want to drink.
- I answered “Nothing, thank you. Just here to see the show”.
- “You have to order something if you want to stay on these chairs”.
- I answered simply “no”.
- Someone else came. Same answer.
- The tenant came. Same answer.
- They then sent us 3 guys to frightened me, my wife and my children.
- These one told us in English: “Or you order something, or you leave. If you don’t order anything, we will expulse you from the camping”.
- ??
- It was holidays. Fighting is not my trip. I was with my family. So I left. But I promised them to write in Tripadvisor.
- This is done!!
The next day I went to complain at the Camping office, and answer was “you should have order something, remain standing, or came with your own chair”.
Do you believe it?
Do you really think it is a way to treat Customers?
Do you still believe “night time festivities” are included in the Camping Entertainment proposal?

- J’ai juste répondu « No ».
- ??

This is a lovely big campsite with divided off pitches but I feel that the details of the pitches were misleading. The details state that there is water on the pitches but fails to mention that the water has to be shared between 2 or 4 pitches dependant on where you are situated. This caused us a problem as we connect our caravan up so that we have running water and the adjacent pitches kept diconnecting it and not reconnecting. There are no waste water facilities on the pitches either so you have to use your wastemaster which is a bit of a pain.

When I booked the campsite last year I asked for a quiet location due to have 4 children. On arrival we were shown where our pitch was only to find that it was on the main access road opposite the swimming pool area, retsaurant and where the evening entertainment took place until nearly midnight each night. Reception were very helpful though as they printed off a map of all pitches that were free for our holiday duration and let us pick which pitch we wanted.

The shower/toliet block that was near to us had plenty of cubicles and you never had to queue to use them. There seemed to be a cleaner in ther all the time mopping out the showers and cleaning the toilets so that they were never dirty. There was also dish washing sinks just outside these blocks so that you could wash up away from your pitch. There were plenty of bins located around the park that were regularly emptied so litter was never a problem.

The directions were a little hard to follow getting to the campsite and the sat nav took us via a road that wasn't suitable for caravans as it had a very very sharp corner to get round which we only just made with a 27ft caravan on. There is a market day in the local town on a Wednesday which we wasn't told about on receltion when we asked where the supermarket was hence it took us over 1 1/2hrs to travel 3 miles and back. The market was fairly good but a lot of same type stalls.

The swimming pools on site were lovely but got very crowded. The beach was a couple of minutes walk and was very clean. Most afternoons the wind increased and the sea got quite choppie. If you went out snorkeling then you had to be careful of the jellyfish.

All in all it was a lovely holiday but probably woudn't return.
