Loved this wee gem. Stayed here for only one night. Staff were friendly and room was nice too. Really picturesque spot with stream and plenty grassy areas. Breakfast was served in lovely room. Bed was luxurious. Nice outdoor amnience.

My partner took me to this hotel for a birthday surprise, and what a wonderful surprise it was! The hotel, the grounds, and the surrounding area were all absolutely beautiful! We visited on he hottest weekend of the year so far (1st bank holiday wknd in May) which meant we made the most of the grounds, first when we arrived late afternoon, with drinks on the lawn, the lunch on the patio the next day.

The room was stunning, very spacious, with a bathroom just as big as the room! However, being in the old part of the hotel, the floorboards right outside of our room creaked whenever anyone walked past, and the kitchen extract seemed to be nearby which meant from 7am when breakfast was starting, the noise could be heard in our room.

Whilst the hotel is beautiful, and I would definitely recommend a stay, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant. Not many guests dinned in, so the atmosphere lacked, and all 3 meals we had during our stay let us down - steak had run out at the dinner; smoked salmon order hadn't arrived in time for breakfast; and cheese platter had very little cheese for lunch! Though small things, this really disappointed us as we had such high hopes in line with the high quality and standards of the rest of the hotel.

A must visit on a summers day - and a must is a camera to capture the beautiful hotel, garden, and stream outside!

Would definitely recommend!

Room Tip: Great value for a special offer we had, however quite expensive if you pay full price. Don't sta...

Dear londongirl745 – I am pleased that you enjoyed your surprize stay, and would recommend us.
i do apologize for the couple of niggles you experienced, unfortunately bank holiday weekends are always difficult to judge for the chefs ordering, and as you said it was a beautiful weekend which did mean unfortunately we did run out of a couple of dishes.
Best Wishes

My partner and I stayed here for short get away. We had a beautiful room in the eves, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge with a lovely big bath. We choose to eat in the restaurant (with the mirrors) it was a great atmosphere we like to eat in quiet places and it was perfect. The service was professional and attentive, and the staff very helpful.
We would recommend this to anyone who wishes to have a relaxing stay and great food.

had a nights break over easter & was very happy with the location, food & room.
Was upgraded (free) to a room with a large stand alone bath overlooking the fantastic view from the window. Girlfriend loved this, not really my sort of thing prefered the shower in the seperate bathroom! Would of given it 5 stars but seemed to be running on skeleton staff so service not that great. Will return.

Dear Ed P, I am so pleased you had a nice Easter break with us. Cotton hall is the only room we have with the bath in the room, and I do take your point that this is not to everyone’s taste.
We never deliberately run on skeleton staff, but due to the unpredictable, and sunshine led nature of our business we can sometimes get caught a little short.
I am glad that none of this detracted from a pleasant stay, and I look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Best wishes
Stuart

We stayed here for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel was booked for us by our children and they made an excellent choice. We were B&B and had one meal at the hotel. Food was excellent. Staff were all friendly knowledgeable and approachable. Absolutely beautiful setting with a stream/river on two sides. Close to the busier villages such as Bourton (we walked, takes about 25 minutes but a pleasant walk through the countryside) Slaughter is quiet, pretty and quaint. Would visit again. Only negative thought the rooms and furnishings looked a little tired, but this is a very minor point and did not detract from our stay.

We stayed on a 3 night break at The Slaughers Country Inn May 2013 and were not disappointed. The hotel and surrounding area is simply stunning! Staff are very helpful and friendly. We stayed on a B&B basis but did book for dinner for one of the nights which was very enjoyable. We stayed in 'South Lawn' which was an extremely comfortable large room with an excellent roll top bath and seperate wet room! Lovely, peaceful stay, would definitely like to return!

Just returned from spending our 25th Anniversary. What a wonderful, friendly place.. We were upgraded to a room that had a separate lounge and were even given a lovely glass of champagne each after dinner.
Room was great, massive bathroom - staff very attentive, food was really good (especially the breakfast)
Wonderful setting, would recommend this place to anyone unreservedly
