“Fourth time and a little disappointed.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

This was my fourth stay at Kesgrave Hall and I was I little disappointed this time.

The building is still fantastic, well presented, and set in lovely grounds. The rooms are still large, well furnished and clean.

Since my last stay the quality of the breakfast has declined, as has the breakfast service. Previously I had raved about the breakfast at this hotel, however on this occasion it was not good.

We were offered coffee and tea at our table which was bought out without milk or sugar, and when our breakfast was bought out cutlery was missing. I had the full English Breakfast. When it arrived it was very dry and the top of the food was over done. It was as if the food had been sitting under a hot plate waiting to be bought to my table.

Overall the physical elements of the hotel are still great but something at this hotel has changed that has affected the customer focused part of its business.

I hope that my most recent experience at Kesgrave Hall is a one off.

Booked Kesgrave Hall as a last minute weekend getaway. The nearby village is nothing to write home about but Kesgrave Hall is nestled among mature trees down a long drive and has a beautiful outlook over grass and woods. The rooms were well maintained and the staff were very friendly. Service in the restaurant was slow when they were busy but the food was good when it arrived.

Room Tip: There is a four room annex at the back of the hotel with nice ground floor room with a walk in showe...

We booked this hotel at 4pm on the same day of arrival for £125. When we arrived we were not overly impressed with Kesgrave as an area however it is really close to other nice coastal towns which is absolutely fine. We drove up the long winding driveway through trees which was lovely. On arrival we were able to park right outside, and they ask restaurant guests to park in an alternative area which leaves ample space for hotel goers.
The reception area is open and inviting and the member of staff was so lovely. She was chatty and friendly and told us everything we needed to know including having the time to give Us a short tour of the restaurant and bar area so that we knew where to go in the evening.
We were in room 4 which was stunning overlooking the grounds and trees.
A nice touch was that dinner or breakfast can be served in your room at no extra cost and they will even set up a table in your room! A real treat. We went to the restaurant in the evening, great food but beware the rather odd ordering process...writing it down yourself and handing over a piece of paper to the waiter.... Really strange but did start a fun game of drawings/pictionary!!

Breakfast was served in bed and was a great choice of both continental and cooked.

The bed was huge and the bathroom was luxurious with a huge bath with circular shower over the top. This stay was a real treat and even though we wouldn't necessarily go back to the area we would absolutely stay in this hotel again, the service and cleanliness was outstanding. Thank you to all for a lovely stay, we will be back.

Tom and Stephanie

Room Tip: We had a superior room which was fantastic

Just returned from a two night break - absolutely stunning from the contempory decor to professional staff! We were treated like royalty! The restaurant was fantastic with every course a winner. I cannot praise the hotel enough - if you are looking for the perfect break book now! We travel loads and this is special!

Room Tip: We were lucky enough to stay in room 2 as featured on the website -absolutely amazing

If we could mark 10/10 we would! Upgraded to 'room 1' personal service from the manager who couldn't have been nicer! Amazing food with amazing service, couldn't recommend this place more....and that's from a Norwich City fan!!!

We were greeted in a nice, friendly manner and directed to our room. Our room (10) was absolutely beautiful, lots of space and the bathroom was amazing, The room was very clean and very spacious! The location is beautiful and we had chance to go have a walk round the grounds, even if it was incredibly cold!
We went down for dinner and it was absolutely delicious, a really nice atmosphere to soak in and we both really enjoyed all courses! We were going to sit in the lounge for a coffee afterwards but there was no where to sit! Which is always nice to see a place can have such a busy buzz.
The room was absolutely silent throughout our stay!
If you fancy a nice break away and a nice, casual but attentive meal, I'd highly recommend
