GOOD: friendly hosts; nice breakfast; secluded B&B. A 9 minute drive to Mosport track.
BAD: The owners bought the B&B name NOT the original property , so the
pictures and amenities on their web listings are false advertising. Their listing on both Tripadvisor.com and Hotels.com is FALSE AND MISLEADING. Disregard the previous reviews as they apply to the previous owner's property and amenities. This place is NOT the original B&B, they just bought the name.
The web shows pictures of a pool - there is NO pool
It show pictures of massage, spa, drinks - NO spa, drinks, massage
The listing states there is a microwave, refrigerator, AC, TV and DVD player and robes
in each room. We stayed in a deluxe room so we did have a fridge - no other room has a fridge or TV. We were asked not to use the microwave as it would blow the fusebox.
The TV is not hooked up to cable so there is no reception. There are no robes.
Their listing said our room had a fireplace. I was so looking forward to that. Turns
out is it a fake metal 2'X2' fireplace against a wall. There isn't an outlet close enough
to plug it in for at least a fake fire look.
The A/C was not central or even a wall/window model. It is a free standing floor unit with
a tube that sticks out a window. On a 95 degree day it couldn't cool the room.
Our room had a hot tub which which was nice. There was a hand held shower attachment if you wanted to take a shower but the cord was too short- you could not stand up to bathe, there was nothing you could use/clip the shower attachment to in order to free up your hands. We wound up sitting in the tub to take a shower. It made for a few
The room was separate from the main house so we had some privacy in theory.
Unfortunately there were NO curtains, or shades. The sunlights by the bed insured
the room was hot during the day and the moonlight lit the room at night. It would
have been nice to be able to darken the room for sleep. The lack of shades or
curtains around the tub area meant that anyone walking by could see you bathe or look
into the room. Our room was on the path to the pond so we never knew if/when anyone
would be walking by and see us. Because there were no curtains or shades it meant
we were up at sunrise. So much for sleeping late and relaxing.
The tennis court is nothing more than a broken overgrown piece of concrete that has
wood stored on it. There is no net. The surface is overgrown and broken so it is
not possible or safe to play tennis on it.
UGLY: The owners bought the Willow Pond Country Bed and Breakfast NAME ,NOT PROPERTY, TWO YEARS ago. They certainly had enough time to change the listing to reflect what they had to offer. They didn't. The owner even mentioned that last year another guest asked them where the pool was.
CONCLUSION: DON"T STAY HERE. IT IS NOT THE B&B in the listing.
We booked a 4 night stay thinking it would be a wonderful getaway. We paid a lot
more to stay there than the local hotels where we would have been better off.
I think it is wrong these owners have used the previous owners listing/photos when it
is NOT the same property, NOT the same facilities and they have had TWO YEARS
to correct the listing. Thats just plain ugly.
This is not the original B&B - disregard all previous reviews
