“Greek Hospitality at its Finest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2010

The brother/sister owners, John & Maria seem to consider it their passion to make sure that their guests feel like home in their hotel. It's not a fancy place - it's clean, comfortable and very charming. It's a 3 minute walk to the beach, to various shops, to restaurants from their hotel. (Maria's shop in the hotel was stocked with some of the nicest clothes in the town, too.) The included continental breakfast was sufficient, with quite decent coffee. We stayed for 7 days and felt quite sad as we were leaving, almost like leaving family and close friends.

My friends and I are on study abroad and wanted a trip away from Athens. This was just the ticket! We randomly chose a hotel and ended up with the PERFECT one! The rooms are small and the beds are a little hard.... but we didn't do much of anything in the rooms but sleep because this hotel is in the perfect location! Middle of town, near the beach, and all ready part of the family.

The stores are quaint, and the bars and resturants took us in as well. We have friends and now family here and I wish we could have stayed longer.

The owners are amazing and are very helpful with any of your needs. I would recommend staying here if you want a close walk to anything and to feel the love that greeks have!

The hotel is clean, close to the beach, and perfect for a quiet stay in Agia Marina, which was absolutely lovely. We went to Agia Marina in early May so it was still quiet. We originally booked the hotel for three nights, but we had to arrive in Agia Marina a day late because of ferry strikes. The hosts, Maria and John, were very understanding. Maria was very helpful and motherly. She shook hands with my companions and I upon arrival, asked each one of us for our names, and treated us like welcome guests and like friends. She struck up conversation when we were around and always had helpful tips and suggestions. She also has a little shop connected to the hotel and she offers discounts for guests. She was so helpful that one of my companions raved about her and gave her a huge hug before she left. We promised her we'd come back someday and I fully intend to. It was by far the best service that I've received from any type of small hotel in my entire stay in Europe, which lasted four months. I would definitely recommend Hotel Rachel to any type of traveler.

The people at Hotel Rachel Maria and John are the best persons, They try to do anything to help you and give you the best information you need. The hotel is situated ideally in the best location just few meters from the beach and all the shops. Very clean hotel, great value and offers also a great buffet breakfast, very rich with big variety and quantity, and free wifi which is very convinient if you have your laptop with you.
Thank you very much definetely will come back soon!!!

When traveling to Greece, we are looking to find something genuine, yet close to the amenities. If you are searching for the real feel of greece, ,staying at Hotel Rachel presents both.
In the morning, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Next, a 2 minute walk behind the Hotel, a wonderful beach appears.
When your thirst is quenched of swimming in the warm sea and and working on your tan, why not check out the huge selection of clothing in the Hotel Rachel Boutique.Maria, one of the owners, has her eye and ears to what is in season(this year purple is the color to wear).
After a quick shower, restaurants are not further than a stones throw away. The main street of Aegina Marina is 20 metres from the Hotel, yet there is less to no noise from traffic. Shops, mini markets, restaurants are plenty. We highly recommend Kostas next door for pottery an genuine Greek Items.
In the evening, we suggest taking a bottle of Retsina and retire to the spacious balcony, taking inn the feel of real greek the nightlife in the narrow street outside the Hotel. The feeling of living amongst the locals is ever so present.
Next morning, after a good nights sleep in the air-conditioned room, Maria or George greets you to a new, warm day in Agia Marina. A new, wonderful day begins.
We are DEFINETELY returning to Hotel Rachel; soon.

our stay at hotel rachel was one of the best experiences of our 26 day trip to the islands. john and maria were so helpful and took care of our every need.. the hotel is a short walk from the beach and conveniently situated with respect to restaurants, grocery stores, bakery and bus stop. breakfast and free internet provided. agia marina is quiet and less hectic than the port area of aegina, and a short bus ride away, i would definitely stay at hotel rachel again.
