“Good value for Greece”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012 via mobile

The hotel is in good decorative order, fresh paint and reasonably well maintained. Pool was clean and breakfast was ordinary, cold meat, cheese, yogurt, fruit bread all OK, at £40 a double reasonable prices but not in comparison to other hotels on the island. Agia Marina is in serious decline empty shops litter everywhere, untidy messy the only redeeming feature is the beach which is good particularly for children. The centre umbrellas on the beach owned by the portacabin beach bar are the best and he looks after his part of the beach very well. Would we return again to AM probably not it's scruffy and unkempt, why the decline don't know, it's Greece with air conditioning in the hotel at least they have moved forward in that respect, but they don't look after the infrastructure very well.

Hotel Katerins was fantastic!! The staff were amazing!! Giota was great and nothing was ever to hard for her.. My luggage was still with the airlines and Giota contacted the airport daily until my luggage was located. She then arranged for it to be delivered to me at the hotel the day I was leaving! Shops, beach and port just a short walk..
Definitely recommend hotel Katerina, however if your are looking for 5 star hotel, look elsewhere.. This hotel was clean, friendly and great for my stay, especially since I am a little bit of a princess!! Total recommend!!
Thank you Hotel Katerina!!

The review before mine gives ex picture. Room had all we needed to break up a stressful week in Athens. Cab ride from port 16 Euro. Ferry from Athens 1/2 hour 15 Euro.
Quiant room with good air cond and refridge! Nice little balcony with ocean view. Super refreshing pool and reasonable bar prices. We were Super Happy!! Staff was nice and breakfast fine. This was one of our best experiences in our two week Grecian holiday.
As with most the beds are hard as rocks.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2009

Spent a week at the end of June and start of July at the Katerina. Delighted with our choice and found it to be a bright, clean and comfortable hotel in a quiet location. The staff are friendly and helpful. Daily room service and regular changes of towels and linen. The facilities are basic but this mirrors the majority of hotels in the resort and it's location and style are far better in my opinion.. The pool is first class and kept spotless.

The hotel is no more than 5 minutes away from the beach and up a gentle hill which would only cause problems to those who really struggle to walk. It is not in a clutter of other hotels and restaurants which is common in the resort. All the rooms face over the pool and you won't be bothered by traffic noise or other tourists.

Breakfast was fine with a good choice but be aware this is Greece and you won't be getting a full cooked plateful. Cereal, fruit, yoghurt, ham, cheese and bread are the order of the day along with coffee and tea.

All the rooms have a sea view and balconies with a table and two chairs. Plenty of room to sit out, have a drink and enjoy the sunset. There are 3 floors and the hotel is in an L shape. Those rooms in the longer portion catch the sunrise and have it till early evening. The other rooms have the best sea view but didn't catch the morning sun until around 8.30am. Better for a long lie in bed! All the rooms have air conditioning which was included in the price. If thinking about other hotels beaware that they advertise air conditioned rooms but look for a further fee to use it. Some as much as 50euros a week. All the rooms have a fridge, kettle, cups and glasses. The television only showed Greek channels

The hotel will do snacks during the day and drinks in the evening. We were pleasantly surprised at the drink prices which are cheaper than the bars and restaurants in the main street. It was quiet when we were there and we only really used the bar after returning from a meal.

Plenty of books available to exchange and there is a PC but didn't use it.

If you are going to stay in Aghia Marina I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. Just remember you are not going to a Boutique Hotel with designer bathrooms and free slippers.
