“Ireland's Best Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013 via mobile

My Girlfirend and I stayed here for the second time last week and loved the twelve just as much as last time. Its defintely one of the best hotels in Ireland. We did a Pizza making masterclass which was a great laugh and the staff where great! We defintely return again in the summer :)

My advice:

Food In the Pins is the best hotel food I have ever had , make sure and eat there if you stay!

Breakfeast is lovely , the made to order options are a great touch.

Book a suite , there well worth and beatifully designed.

Try their cocktails!

I booked this hotel based on the strong reviews. It was nice, clean and plenty comfortable but nothing was outstanding about the room either. We did not eat here so I can't comment on the food. It is a little out of the way from downtown.

well before check in, i was impressed alone by the elevator, black padding very swanky indeed.!then when we headed to reception we were greeted by juliann with a welcome drink i had spoken to her when making my booking, and she really was a true professional, also when checkin in i had noticed that there were two chairs for me and my partner to sit down!!!while registering, thats a first!!so relaxing.
headed up to the room we stayed in 1248 and we got the room for 79RO pernight, thats why i was surprised how big the room was, lounging area / kitchen bar area and the cute greeting card and choc strawberries, our mini bar was stocked already , not that we used it, it was temting though!!:p
we ate in the west restaurant and in all honesty it truley was the most exquisite meal i have ever tasted, we were dining on valentines night, so the menu was pricing but it was worth it!!
waiting staff very attentive, i think our waitress was Natilie , there was nothing she could have done for us....
we explored connemara its a lovley place, so refreshing everything is in as gaelgie, didnt get bored once, very relaxing trip.we will be back, maybe with more of the family,;)

We were most impressed from moment of arrival. Small boutique hotel as expected. Very comfortable room ... Very quiet. Small spa for perfect back massage on arrival. All natural products made in Sligo, also in your room. Dinner on night one in The West was included in our package from a la carte with no extra charges or supplements - a great surprise and excellent wine list! We opted for 3 different wines they match with your food. Good central location for Connemara and Galway City. Check out O'Gradys seafood restaurant on the pier 5 mins walk - really cute and great food also. Music in the bar sat night was super. Highly recommend for a short break!

We had dinner in the bar Friday night and the fish was just amazing so fresh and cooked to perfection.
Breakfast was excellent - papers, the fresh fruit, beautiful scones and top notch poached egg gave us a great start to the day.
I loved all the little touches in the room like the card, robes, slippers, shortcake and strawberries welcoming us on arrival. Freshly filtered coffee, green tea and chamomile tea as options in the room along with Voya products which are truly indulgent. Rooms very spacious and clean.
We had a few drinks on Saturday night in the bar and the barstaff were so pleasant and friendly, I felt they really went the extra mile in making us feel welcome.
And on check out getting the option of a take away coffee for our journey home was a really nice thought too.
I will definitely be back and will be highly recommending it to my friends and family.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel truly welcome, with a warm mulled fruit drink and even warmer customer service. Our room was modern and spacious with another welcome treat laid out. All the rooms are off the main corridor by use of a hallway in between, which blocks out any noise from people in the corridors either going back to their room or banging doors for example. Lighting in the bathroom was pretty cool, we could have had our own personal little disco going on! Food was fabulous, we ate in the restaurant and were really impressed by the waiter's knowledge and friendliness, usually in posh restaurants, staff can by aloof, but this was certainly not the case in the Twelve. Breakfast was also excellent. We just could not fault the Twelve, it really made our stay in Galway special.

Just returned from a spur of the moment overnight in the Twelve Hotel in Bearna, Co Galway, we were met at check in by a very pleasant and friendly staffmember who sat us down and checked us in in minutes, and showed us to our room ,. the rooms are well decorated , very comfortable and all you would expect from a boutique hotel, soft carpets in the halls , comfortable bed and even welcome shortbread and strawberries. filter coffee in the room and proper kettle.
We had dinner in the Pins restaurant/Bistro in the Hotel and were not disappointed, good service and tasty hot food, not overpriced, good atmosphere in the bar afterwards .
Breakfast was equally as nice, freshly cooked and efficiant staff made it worth the visit.
