Lovely 3 night stay in this new hotel, beautiful scenery, beautiful rooms, very clean and excellent food, friendly staff and good service. We had looked up other reviews and were satisified with our stay here. Barna is not that far away from Galway and we enjoyed the city shopping too, its just a short hop away. Salthill is wonderful with its beautiful promenade walk, perfect to end a days sight seeing.
My American wife did all the bookings so if she was happy then we were both happy. Most expensive place of our stay but well worth it, we would return again.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights on 5th-6th of October. Rooms are very luxurious and stylish with some really cool extras. From the chocolate strawberries left in the room, real coffee, plasma TV's and robes provided everything in our room was perfect.
Had supper in the bar on the Friday night and this was very tasty. Service very good and the bar staff very friendly.
Their cooked breakfast the following morning was the biggest I have seen (pity I had a little hangover from the vodka and coke the night before!)
Had a meal in the restaurant the Saturday night and the food, wine and service was superb. Belinda was our server and she was very pleasant and charming. Couldn't fault anything in our stay here.
There is an in-house bakery so do try the pastries and breads here.
All in all we enjoyed it and hope to go back in November. We went without our kids and felt it was more suitable for couples than families.

  • Liked — THe food,in-house bakery, real coffee in rooms and overall opulent feel to hotel
  • Disliked — Have nothing bad to say!

We arrived here on Friday last 21st September 2007. Check in was no problem. Although they had us marked in for three nights and we were only staying one - but there was no big deal made about it!! A small error on their behalf, but it didn't worry me.
We were shown to our room and wow it was fab. spacious, loved the decor. that night we went to bar very busy , there was rugby on. Had some pub grub, very nice. They even had a big screen in the restaurant for the match, and one in the smoking shelter. Breakfast next morning was perfect, we got a complementary newspaper, and we had to option of a good long lie in... breakfast was being served until 11am. At the end of our stay we were only sorry we weren't staying on longer!

I have always loved the website so when I started to plan my business trip to Ireland, immediately checked their rates and got a good deal (€112).

Not sure what I can still tell you that hasn't already been praised in previous reviews...The service is excellent: professional, friendly and flexible. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean and include all extras such as slippers, bathrobe, well-stocked mini bar, ipod docking station, a good hairdryer, plasma screen TV, very comfortable beds and A COFFEE MACHINE FOR REAL COFFEE!!!!

All rooms are non-smoking but I got a room with a large balcony which meant that I didn't have to walk through the hotel for my last smoke... It was raining and the balcony is not covered so I did have to use the umberella provided by the hotel!

I stayed in Ireland for ten days and was in a different hotel every night. The Twelve was by far the best.

Lovely hotel except for the breakfast - a complete disaster and as we only stayed one night it was our final impression of the hotel. Ended up sitting at the bar (gangs of workmen were taking up the tables) next to the dirty glasses from the night before. Got a couple of things from the buffet but couldn't get anyone to serve us. There was 3 waiting staff and they couldn't cope. A lot of people were complaining (and hungry) and we were so frustrated we had to leave.
Its a pity our breakfast was so bad - based on the rest of our experience I would have expected so much better. I've since heard of other people who've stayed there complain about the breakfast.
