“Lovely Hotel - Quiet location but close to Ibiza Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

This is an excellent little hotel, with a great seafront location and within walking distance of Ibiza town and the harbour. The only let down with the hotel seem to be the Spanish staff - they dont really seem to care too much and will get by with having as little interaction with guests as possible. The English staff were particularly helpful and pleasant. Me and my partner had a street view room, its obviously not as good as looking out over Talamanca bay but it is a very pretty quiet street. The room was as you would expect for this budget and was cleaned well every day. If you are looking for anything slightly lively then i would probably recommend staying in Town or Bossa, but if you want to chill by day and be close to everything at night then this is a great place to stay. Pacha is a 5 min taxi ride, Ibiza town, 5-10 mins, Bossa, 15 mins and the airport 15-20 mins. Breakfast was excellent.

Stayed at the Simbad for a 10 night stay in May. Wonderful setting and highly recommend the hotel as a base for Ibiza Town. The buffet style evening meal is delicious with a choice to please all. Loved the ' la plancha ' style section. Great friendly staff. Thanks for a great stay.

Stayed at the Simbad for a week and was a perfect hotel to be able to chill and relax by the sea and yet be nearer enough to take a stroll in to Eivissa Town. April is the earliest I have been to Island and was unsure if it would be warm enough. Had amazing hot weather and got to swim in the sea. Lots of Spanish people enjoying their Island before the madness from July onwards. Not so many bars or people - but real space to chill .Hotel was clean and in a perfect spot in Talamanca. Only thing I would say is the rooms could be updated to reflect the rest of hotel - which was cool. Breakfasts very good.

Room Tip: We had a sea facing room and looking out over the harbour towards Ibiza Town. Those views are worth...

Last month some friends and I stayed here for a week. The views and the location were perfect. The bedroom was simple but certainly not four star as the sheets had not been changed during our stay .It was the surly staff that ensured we would never return again! The waiters in the breakfast room were like a 'gang of old thugs' who practically took the food off our plates to clear us out !We also witnessed a couple who came in a half an hour before the end of breakfast service who were shouted at to get out and the door closed behind them. Even when they told the front desk they were greeted with the same surliness and indifference. Best option sleep on the beach and enjoy the pretty view of the bay!

Dear Customer

What for you is a 'gang of old thugs for us is a staff devoted to his work, sometimes more successfully than others.

certainly I will support our staff and also they feel support of many repeat customers who send letters of gratitude every year.

Best of all, our housekeepers are great group of women who work hardly everyday so let me doubting that in a week not cleaned her room.

This has never happened in the 15 years I've been working at the hotel.

thank you for sharing your review

regards

Stayed here for a friends wedding coupled with getting a great deal we knew we wouldnt spend much time here. Figured for a place to lay our heads.

Hope's were for clean and comfy... We got this and so much more.

All staff friendly, especially the barmen day and night.
Hotel has great communal areas all mainly looking over the bay.

Rooms were not flash and no double bed bed. However, clean and comfy. Would next time opt for sea view.

Buffet breakfast was fine, not exceptional but had a wide selection.

Only downfall on cleanliness was the Spa it could have defo done with an bit of spruce up come evening time.

We walked to the harbour and to Ibiza town very easy and pleasant.

All in all we got so much more than we paid for. Might bring our kiddie next time....

Ps face sea and walk left. Find Sa Punta restaurant yum yum. (Take a little extra cash for this one)

Checked this place out when I visited previously and scored a week here, it was great. From start to finish, Julian will make your stay perfect (if you allow him). Rooms were well maintained and kept very clean. Free drinks in mini-fridge. Bathroom was great with a good shower that didn't change temperature every 30 seconds. Balcony overlook of Cala Talamanca and unobstructed view of the sea beyond. Far enough from Eivissa Old Town and the Clubs to feel quiet and peaceful. At the end of the boardwalk, and feels exclusive being the last hotel on Cala Talamanca's north shore. It is about 15 minutes walk down the boardwalk to the water taxi which takes you direct to Old Town. Rent a car at the front desk and see the island, there are hundreds of places to get lost for the day, then drop off the keys at the desk when you get back. Perfect. Nice pool. Tried the food once, but we prefer the genuine Spanish experience and seek out the best local spots. (ask Julian at the desk for the best fish restaurant on Ibiza, bon apetit!) Nice bar, nice patio overlooking the Cala. Couldnt tell you about the facilities, but stop at the bar and have a couple shots of tequila. Leave a tip for the cleaning ladies, they deserve it. The sooner you understand manana por la manana, the better off your vacation will be on Ibiza.

My 2 nights last week at the Simbad were quite good. Competent people at the reception, a reasonable breakfast buffet, decent rooms and a good location make this a winner. The tourist guests seem OK, not the raunchy type, some even dress-up. Keep it up!
