“Good food in a delightful setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

A restaurant I love to return to. One can count on a good meal, a warm reception and a cheerful atmosphere, in an old windmill long since converted into a restaurant.

“Probably the mostrar popular restaurant on Menorca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

Living in Menorca there aré many good restaurants to choose from.
However Es Molí offers the best selection of dishes at a good price with
excellent service. The owner and his staff always make you very welcome. This restaurant is very popular with the locals-a sign of good food at a good price!

“Still the same wonderful atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

My husband, daughter and myself have just had yet another lovely meal at Moli d'es Raco. We have been going there for typical Menorquian food for the last 27 years. It's always buzzing and today every one of their many dining rooms was heaving because it was raining here on the Island. Every age is catered for, from babies in arms to octogenarians or maybe older. Yes, there are many steps to encounter that first room so this isn't a place for the disabled. The portions are huge so sharing is never frowned upon. There is always a Menu del dia which is very reasonably priced and very good value or the extensive A La Carte which is not expensive by today's standard. There is ample parking in front of the Windmill. The staff, many who have been here for years, couldn't be more attentive. So many of the families today were having paella--that must say a lot for this restaurant--- I think, possibly we were the only Brits!!!!

“Very good selection of local Menorca food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

We’ve been there for dinner (4 adults & 4 kids) and food was just great. They’ll show you various types of fish on a plate of which you can chose and they’ll make it for you or you go for beef, pork or lamp. We’ve had a mixture of all and every dish was very good. Kids food is not a problem, either they’ve it or simply make it. Good selection of local wines, staff very friendly. Make a reservation otherwise you might end up without a table. Good value for money.

“Best quality/price ratio in the whole island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

I've eaten there dozens of times at this casual and familiar restaurant in the middle of the island. And without being pretentious this means a lot coming from me. Set un the rural center of the island (not seaside) this place combines both good fish dishes and traditional local food. Don't expect "haute cuisine" or "Michelin's guide type" delicatessen suggestions. No, this is a place for local food like a fish paella, lobster stew, stuffed squid, monkfish soup, assorted grilled fish platter, lamb coated in breadcrumbs, rost lamb, pan fried giblets with red pepper and serious food like all these. All perfectly cooked, tasty, honeyed. Most served with a generous portion of home made diced chips or vegetables. Also fresh and generous green salads and simplier things like "tortilla de patatas" or a grilled local veal or ox steak. The "secret" of the quality is the origin of the raw products, all coming from nearby fields, traditional farms and local (10 km away) fishermen. Sum this up with an experienced, fast and friendly service, used to quick turnarounds and kind with foreing holydayers. A previous review says "it was packed out on a Sunday in January". Actually, it's packed out every day at lunchtime, all year ... by locals. And the price? It can't be considered expensive considering what you for what you pay. And remember, it's not posh, not elegant, it's casual, ... A final suggestion as a starter to share: try "alberginies amb gambes", a sort of mousse made of eggplant and diced prawns. It can't be eaten anywhere else in the island.
